Finally got to see Inglorious Basterds. I loved it, it was like Pulp Fiction except the characters were actually relatable. |
Glad to hear someone who really liked it. Most of my friends have mixed reactions about it, from boring to underwhelming. |
Your friends' taste suck. It was a great movie and deserved its Best Picture nomination. |
I dunno, I found it lacking in character development for most of the Basterds and generally unsatisfying, especially in terms of the ending. For an alternate history action & black humor movie, I suppose it served it's purpose, and it was shot lovingly, well-paced. Still, Tarantino's done better in my book; I'd have rather stayed home and watched Death Proof again, or waited for it to come out on rental. Maybe his friends were onto something and his and your taste just suck in that regard, Klimb. Or maybe people like different things for different reasons. C'est la vie.
Also, I finally got a copy of Parents again. I had to stop it five times because it made me remember seeing it on Saturday afternoon tv when I was a lot younger and because it's so fucked up I almost puked. Seriously, best Randy Quaid movie ever. Hands down.
