Okay it's not technically a flash MOB, but I defy you to watch this and then tell me it was not the most wonderful, hilarious thing you have ever seen:

If I ever find myself caught in a flashmob, I would call the police and report a riot.

That was one of the most retarded things I have ever watched. Since it is illegal to play a radio in public in NYC like they were doing I mostly watched the whole thing because I was hoping the cops would show up and beat them senseless. I would have beat the shit out of those guys if they came up to me and blocked my path like they did to some of those people.

The dude who played Liu Kang should have petitioned harder to play a non-shirtless character.

All joking aside, it was fun to watch, and at least they did it on or near Halloween, so it's not as embarassing to watch as a gamer.

I'm sorry, but I see them more as jackasses instead of clowns. Mostly because I could easily see someone feeling their space being violated and breaking out the mace.

The guy dressed up as Sub-Zero had no Idea what to do, so him just standing there in Starbucks was pretty funny/sad.

There are better ways to do that that don't involve violating personal space.

It just bothers me. It's no different than being at a circus when the clowns follow you around going "Hoo-hoo!" and juggling in your face. No one likes that shit, no one. If these nerds would have done this at a video game convention or something, it would have been welcomed. But they didn't, they ran around doing it to random people and almost no one in the video looks amused,

Yeah i am sure the conversation where they decided to do this was "oh boy lets dress up as our favorite video game characters and dance to the theme song all across the city in order to bring joy to the masses on Halloween." and not "dude you know what would be hilarious? Lets all dress up like mortal kombat guys and go around the city dancing like jackasses!" "Yeah man and lets record the whole thing too!" "This is gonna get so many youtube views!!!"

Having said that, I enjoyed the video. Mostly because I enjoy anything with that song.

Oh, I think it's kind of funny. I just couldn't take my eyes off of Liu's moobs as he made it pop.

I get this when I see shit like those Super 64 videos. It just feels like they're reinforcing the idea to the public that gamers are a bunch of desperate little manchildren. Like you said, if it was at PAX or E3 or something, it'd be funny. In public, it's just kind of sad. Entertaining, but sad.

Wat.

So if i am driving in my car in NYC and i am listening to my radio and the window is down and it can be heard outside the car....that is illegal?

Because if it isn't there is absolutely no difference between doing this and walking down the street with a boombox playing the radio as the radio in both cases can still be heard.

Kinda have to agree that it's less people wanting to bring joy to the masses and more drunken jackasses being jackasses. In fact you can see the guy with the eye patch at points apologizing to the people around.

That being said. Not Flash Mob - ^^^^

Flash Mob:

Not Flash Mob: - ^^^^

Flash Mob:

Not Flash Mob - ^^^^

That being said, I don't want to detract from the potential humor of watching people being asses; it's just that the title's kind of misleading.

It's the boombox that is illegal. You can still drive around blasting your radio. I think it has something to do with stopping people from gathering around outside certain areas. And you know, bringing a boombox into a subway, shop or other indoor area can be pretty irritating. That shit echoes like a motherfucker in the subway, that's for sure. It is probably racist as well, since it was mostly blacks with boomboxes and the man always likes to keep a brother down, you dig?

But...that's why it's funny... Sadly no

Anyway, I know it's not a flash mob Atman, it's just what they called it in the title of the actual video. Hence the quotation marks around the phrase when I used it. And the fact that I actually mentioned that it technically isn't a flash mob. Wink

Oh come on, guys. If I were to be shuffling through Wal-mart or something and I saw this happening in front of me, I would burst out laughing and applaud.
