Just started watching and it looks to be a good season. The two returning people are Coach and Ozzy, both good competitors, if naive and dumb. They have been given a chance at redemption so we'll see how that goes.
Personally, I like them both. Coach is good for entertainment, while Ozzy is a damn good competitor and likable.
Anyone else stoked for this season?

I'm always stoked for Survivor. I don't like Ozzy all that much, but Coach is always very entertaining.

I enjoyed the premiere, I wish they would ditch the RI format.

Yeah, I don't really like RI all that much and was hoping they'd get rid of it for this season. It just felt tacked on to me and took out a lot of the finality of the votes. Blindsides and huge strategic moves aren't as impactful now that the person blindsided isn't gone for good yet.
Also, they didn't correct the whole "when someone does successfully come back into the game, we'll just vote them out right away again" plothole that happened last season.

I'm also not a fan of RI. I think once someone is voted out, they should be out for good.
As for Coach vs Ozzie, I found myself rooting for Coach in the challenges because he's the perceived underdog. I used to really dig watching him, but now it's not as fun--it's almost sad. He was a lot more fun when he had no self-awareness and just did his thing. Now, he is much more tuned in on how he will be viewed by the audience and the other players. He's figured out that people are laughing at him and not with him. Boring.
I still have no favorites. It will probably take a few weeks before someone stands out for me.

Thank you war cactus, that added nothing to the discussion.
Content for the thread though.

Wow. Ozzy just made one of the Boldest or Dumbest Moves in Survivor History.
This will certainly turn out interesting.

I've been watching this since the last four episodes (my dad has it on in the background when I hang out with him on Wednesdays), and does anyone else find literally every person on this show to be profoundly annoying? Between the shaved-head dude being sexist and making things REALLY awkward and starting fights between people at every eviction ceremony, Coach, who did a more-or-less-blasphemous group prayer asking for an immunity idol he already had, and Ozzy (and pretty much everyone on his tribe) who goes on and on about how redemption island exists for people to "truly redeem themselves" and taking a freaking game show way too seriously, I can't find myself liking anyone on the show, at all.

LOL, Didn't notice that.
Way to be Sophie.
I hate how they have to put some movie advertisement into the show. They do it every season now.

Man, this season has been so boring that I've literally forgot that it comes on for 3 weeks in a row. I'm just not feeling it.

I'm pretty sure it's 2 to even 3 a year.

It's two a year. Been going on for nearly 12 years.
Sophie has been my favorite from the beginning. She's intelligent and funny.
It's been a little boring so far, but now that we're at the merge things will get a lot better, especially since Cock-Ring flipped.
That ultra-religious dude (Russell's nephew) obviously has had serious issues in the past. Anyone who talks that much about good and evil in everyday conversation and cries about telling a fucking lie has absolutely committed at least two felonies.

Yeah, they usually run that around Thanksgiving. Those are rarely worth the watch.

Is it just me or is Coach much more likable this season? Also, I never really liked Ozzy and never understood the hype behind the guy, but he seems really douchy this time around.

Ozzy has been liked mostly for his physical prowess and his ability to dominate in challenge. My mom and grandma sure like him, if that says anything. I also think he's a terribly boring and unlikable person. He reminds me of a surfer bro guy I would avoid at a public function. He could be a great guy in real life, I don't know but he just comes off that way.
