On the topic of Piracy

I expected to get some backlash from those who are very anti-piracy,..but NO one is on my side here?, I find that hard to believe.
If we woke up tomorrow and the internet was cleaned up of ALL copyright infringement, once and for all anyway or form... You really expect me to believe you'd ALL wear a sloppy grin, sigh a breath of relief and say "well it's about damn time!"

Well, yes. Sure, it'd make previewing albums harder/impossible, but the whole reason why I buy albums and posters and other merch of bands I like is so they don't have to spend the rest of their lives cleaning toilets and can devote themselves to making the art that I have enjoyed absorbing.

Exactly, thanks to piracy we now know to spend money on those who are worth spending money on.
Unlike back in the day when I'd say, buy a Sugar Ray album cause I liked one song.... I ddin't need to buy the album, he only had ONE good song, but I din't know that UNTILL i bought the album... and it's on the radio constantly, so I didnt need to buy the album, just like games, whatever...
Pink Floyd has new remasters of its albums coming out soon, and you can be SURE I'm paying for those.

Well, for one thing, that's why you buy the one song you like from an album. It's now more than possible with digital downloading websites, though other means have existed (singles on CD, Vinyl, Cassette Tape, 8-track, you name it) for a long, long time. Also, the problem with piracy is that the vast majority of people who pirate albums don't proceed to purchase said album rightfully.

How does the whole "one song" thing relate to video games? Are you trying to tell me that you have the right to pirate video games because you only like one level in the game?

No, but I mean it gives me a chance to REALLY play the game, not just a demo of the best parts of the game, and in turn give it a true evaluation. Then I buy the game assuming whoever uploaded it ripped out the cut scenese, music, etc... just to make it more download friendly and I'll have the WHOLE game as it was meant to be played...
According to movies trailers, EVERY movie is the next best movie EVAR!!! and I'm sure you must agree that you've seen trailers that made you HAVE to see a movie, and then the movie sucked arse...
Granted yes, after watching a movie on my comp I'm not about to go to the the theatrs and watch it again, but I'll have my eyes open for the bluray release so I can see it in 1080p with extras.
