Wrong. In the 90's, yes. Pornstars make far, far, far less money than they ever did from porn. The make most of their money from stripping and appearances now. Pornography is just one vehicle to get their name out there; the real money comes from other business ventures.
Do not confuse the porn industry with the sex industry. Porn is profitable, but only a fraction of what it was a decade ago. The sex industry (anything pertaining to sex: strip clubs, prostitution, escorting, etc.) is highly profitable, yes. That's because you can't steal a real lapdance online, or download a genuine vagina. Yet.
Playboy is nearly bankrupt, as is Penthouse and nearly every other pornographic magazine. The availability of free porn on the internet has killed these in just a few years.
There's no way to defend it. The availability of "free" media online damages that medium's ability to garner a profit. Music and porn are the easiest things to steal online; those are the two industries hit the most with the emergence of the internet.
Also, don't go away just because you got drunk and spouted baseless nonsense. I was thoroughly entertained; yesterday I posted in this thread more than I had on the entire site in a month.

Those are two wildly different things. The goal of Europeans in the New World was widespread conversion to Christianity, particularly amongst the Catholic powers of the day. The early goals of the British Colonial and later United States governments was assimilation, then separation. The indigenous tribes were first moved across the Mississippi to get them out of the way of the expanding republic, and, when the early western border was reached, a wholesale move to force the Indians on to reservations and assimilation.
This is not to absolve the US government for years of broken treaties, callous treatment that resulted in many deaths, and out-and-out warfare on an entire race of people. As terrible as it was, encouraging western settlers to kill as many buffalo as possible to deprive the plains tribes of their food supply and force them to adopt agriculture is not the same as the wholesale, deliberate, and concentrated slaughter of a race of people based on the crackpot theories of eugenics that a failed Austrian artist subscribed to.

No, there is absolutely nothing you can say to convinve the world otherwise. We don't care what amazing shit you say he accomplished. I already said I totally agree that what hitler did was horrible.
But why is killing 6 millions Jew bad, but killing 10-100 million indigenous people so as to take their land is okay?

The forefathers of the United States killed one race of people to take their land and then enslaved another race of people to build their new world. You're history books paint a prettier picture I'm sure, but that's the gist of it.
I'm not saying all Americans are now cursed with the mark or anything, I'm sure no one here on this thread had anything to do with the murder of any Jews or Indians (for political reasons...)
But just as I said I like to root for the underdog, everyone deserves fair trial, and in this case both German history and American history have their ugly stories they'd rather not bring up. Hell, we (well, not US, Newfoundland was it's own republic at the time, Canada I'm referring to) burned down your White House (but YOU were pickin' for it  ), everybody fucks up.
Basically as I said before, those who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.

1. The fact that you "root" for Hitler disgusts me.
2. Diseases are probably the largest cause of death of the Indians.
3. When they found the new land, it would be hard to imagine that the entire continent was spoken for.
4. Indian Tribes attacked eachother all the time.
5. Why the fuck are we talking about what happened 500+ years ago, when no one has any connection to this whatsoever? Was you're Great Great Great Great Great Great Great Grandpa an Indian who passed down the story of how the white man came and ruined your Buffalo farm?

We don't forget about it because it's still brought up daily. How many times do you hear about the colonization of America? Holocaust happened and there are still survivors of it. Segregation was abolished shortly after that, so I would say they are still fresh on the mind.
Comparing something from "modern" society with something from the Fuedal era is laughable at best. Next were going to hear how Outer Space is just as bad as America and Hitler because an asteroid killed the Dinosaurs.
The point is no one really gives a shit because it happened half a millenium ago! In 400 more years I doubt anyone is going to care about Slavery, or Hitler. Time "heals" wounds and by heal I mean makes generations forget.
How this went from "ZOMG Internet will change" to Piracy to Hitler being a rootable underdog is beyond me.

Because as I said earlier I threw out the Hitler word when I was drunk to get a rowe started, and it worked. Here it is 60 hours later. I'm sober, but people are still arguing. that's the power of that word. Just gets people goin' man. So when I'm a drunk prick I use it. It's my goal to not get drunk anymore.
But another thing that keeps it going is I just can't seem to make you realize that the genocide of the people indigenous to this continent is kinda up their with the Holocaust.
I'm not sure if it's pride in your country, but as I saidm I don't blame ANYone today for what happened back in anytime Before they were alive.

I expected to get some backlash from those who are very anti-piracy,..but NO one is on my side here?, I find that hard to believe.

I download a fuckton of movies, tv shows, music, videogames, books, etc. Most of it gets deleted, though. If I download something and I enjoy it, I always end up purchasing a genuine, non-pirated copy. Unless it is something like a book or game or a movie that was translated/subbed/dubbed in a language I can comprehend and is not available otherwise.

If you re=read the whole thread it all started with my phrase "Hitler Had a lot of good ideas". That's my shit-faced phrase. as Dana Gould once said, anyone who knows a career drinker, knows they have a shit-faced phrase. And I use that one to get peoples panties in a bunch, and it works. Thats why I'm 60 hours an counting. Can we just drop it now?
