Another day, another Robert Rodriguez rumor...this one surrounding the long-play version of Machete, which you will affectionately remember as the trailer from Grindhouse featuring Danny Trejo and Cheech Marin. Before Grindhouse came out in theaters, there was talk of making the trailer into a full-length film, but the weak box office showing of the film might have squashed that entirely. Danny Trejo, however, says that Machete will still be made into a feature.
Furthermore, Trejo says, it's entirely possible that Machete will be the next film that Rodgriguez makes, which is directly oppositional to reports that have him making either Sin City 2 or The Jetsons before that happens. No matter what the case might be, the director figures to be one very busy man for the forseeable future.

Do we really need a live action Jetsons movie? Did anyone actually LIKE the Flinstones movies?

What do you mean, he'll be incredibly busy? This is RR we're talking about. He'll just film Machete over some weekend, by himself on a digi-cam, then take it into his house, edit it, and then score it himself. Just like he did with Once Upon A Time In Mexico, and the Spykid films.

I didn't actually like the jetsons, even when it was a cartoon. And its not like the modern child, teenager, adult, or old person pines for that particular bit of nostalgia.

Yeah, what the hell, there is absolutely no call for a Jetsons movie. None.

Agreed. I recall joking about such a possibility a number of years ago, suggesting Tim Allen as George Jetson.
Of course, when I sarcastically suggested a Scooby Doo movie with a CG dog around the same time...

Uh... Brett Ratner was actually attached to that for a while. Not sure who is now, but it's got an entry in IMDb.

Voiced by Jason Lee. I'm sold.

It's not that I like the first movie, but I reference it much more than I thought I ever would. Plus, Dale Cooper is one evil son of a bitch in it. The problem was it wasn't a fun movie... at all. The sequel was fun, but also very annoying.
