This is the new Brad Pitt and Jonah Hill movie out that looks to be about baseball.
Don't let that fool you. It IS about baseball

It's just not about baseball in the sense you think. This isn't Little Giants or Major League. Almost none of the plot really happens on the field.
This is based on a person named Billy Beane. Former pro players, then scout, and now GM of the Oakland Athletics. The Athletics keep losing players each year as teams with deeper pockets buy off their all stars forcing them to rebuild year after year, until Beane gets sick of it and tries to change the approach and use their much smaller and limited budget to craft a winning team.
They cite the 2002 season for this film. I'm not familiar enough with baseball to know what happened in 2002 to say if this film is accurate or not to the real events.
It was entertaining, slow to start, but once it got rolling it was a good watch.
Hey, it's this or that Taylor Lautner "Abduction" movie right?
