So I think my brother spilled soda or something on my 360 controller... the left analog stick sticks to the left a lot. Is there anyway I can fix this?

The only advice I'm aware of is taking it apart, removing the analog stick, and cleaning it with rubbing alcohol. I have the same issue myself, so I may look into this solution, or another one if anyone a better idea on how to fix this.

Yeah I'd try taking it apart and cleaning it. I've only taken apart a wired one and it was easy as hell to get back together, but I imagine a wireless one might be a little more complicated.

When my PS2 controller got shit spilt onto it I used an alcoholic wipe or a wet nap and edged it into the joystick ball joint, with the joystick pushed to the opposite direction of where it sticks. Pushed it back the way it sticks and moved it around a lot, fixed me right up. Did the same thing at FuncoLand/GameStop with the nasty trade ins we got.

Edit: You could also take a very soft bristeled toothbrush and clean in the area, obviously don't use water. Or toothpaste for that matter.

I would use a lightly wetted brush myself, preferably a used one no one will miss. If you do take it apart, take care not to let the analog shoulder buttons get out of hand.

I'm not a bad enough dude, but I am an edgy little shit. I'll do what I can.

My nephew is on his third 360 controller with this exact same problem, he plays a lot of COD and he says its from overuse. I think its a pretty shitty design flaw.

I had my 360 for a few months and the same thing happened to my controller before it red ringed on me. It definitely wasn't from overuse, I played 1-2 hours every other night, maybe 3 hours on a Saturday night tops. That shit shouldn't happen in that short of a period of time. But yeah, do what those guys said.

No way I'm taking it apart. I'll try Douche's way.

A lot of times when controllers get stuck it is because of excess dust and skin buildup. I used to fix lots of my friends' controllers and most of the time that was the problem. It happens a lot faster if you get sweaty hands when you play.

Make sure you wipe in a front-to-back motion.

As for the controller, I dunno.

Taking it apart shouldn't be a big deal, besides the battery pack and whatever makes the wireless works the basic controller design probably hasn't advanced that far since the days of the SNES and thus shouldn't be overly complicated / hard to put back together.

The A button is dead on my "Gamestop brand" (really madcatz I think) wired 360 controller, but I think that's because the GF sat and farmed gold playing job mini games in Fable II and III all the time instead of actually playing the missions. Rolling Eyes

Will an alcohol swab work instead of a wet nap? I can steal alcohol swabs from the medical kit at work, dunno where I can find wet naps...

Typically you can't reach where you need to with a Swab. You should be able to find wet naps somewhere, they have ones for electronics, health, and at rib joints.

To "fix this" you are going to want to contact Reelo Baruk on Nar Shaddaa. You'll owe him a favor back, but he'll "take care of it" for you. He can probably get you a new controller as well.

I should specify, Douche, the things I'm talking about are basically wet naps, but with rubbing alcohol and they don't unfold as much.
