I, like a lot of people, saw the live-action
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie when I was but a lad. I loved it then for its hectic action, and I still like it today for the quality of its puppets/animatronics, and for its well-choreographed fight scenes.
But that's not why I'm here. In the montage of scenes set in the Foot Clan's outer hideout, kids are shown skateboarding, playing NARC, shooting pool, etc. In one brief shot, a mohawked punk (hooray, 80's!) is shown furiously playing an instrument, which unfortunately cannot be heard over the other background noise. While watching this scene recently, I noticed something...To be sure, I paused the video, and looked closely. Yes, the kid is shredding a
bass guitar!
Signs that prove it: 1) He's using his fingers, and 2) in several frames, the four strings are clearly visible. I would have thought they would have given him a regular electric guitar, especially considering the attitude of the 80's.

I still can't figure this out, unless the kid himself brought it. And he clearly knows what he's doing, so he prolly mentioned it. Who knows, that could even be a young Mike Dirnt right there!
Now, looking back, I think this may have subconsciously influenced me to pick up a bass rather than a guitar like most other people. Okay, my girlfriend probably had something to do with it, too, but mostly this.
Enough of my caffeine-fueled rambling, it's your turn. Anything else like this that later influenced your life? (besides just buying all the playsets and toys)
