Ah, it's almost a new year so you know what that means? Remake time! Here is the cast list for the new Fright Night, which is in post production now.
Colin Ferrel - Jerry Dandridge
David Tennant - Peter Vincent
Christopher Mintz-Plasse - "Evil" Ed Thompson
Anton Yelchin - Charley Brewster
Imogen Poots - Amy Peterson
I don't know who those last two people are at all. Anyways, I'd agree that I'm getting tired of people saying "Wah, they be raping mah childhoods!" about every remake and reboot but goddammit...this is my Fright Night. Discuss.

It seems that they have changed the film a bit by the looks of things. Here's something from wikipedia:
Quote: |
Charlie (Anton Yelchin) is a teen convinced that his new neighbor (Colin Farrell) is a vampire. Toni Collette plays the teen's disbelieving mom, who falls under the vampire's spell.
Peter Vincent (David Tennant) is a Las Vegas magician whose show revolves around horror-movie imagery. Vincent claims to be a vampire expert, but when the teen turns to him for assistance, he's less than helpful.
Evil Ed (Christopher Mintz-Plasse) is Charlie's friend who feels slighted that Charlie has left his nerdy past behind and thus joins the vampire's coven.[4] |
It's now his mother who is under the spell and not his girlfriend, i don't see why she's a character even in it now and the vampire expert had a "camp" 50s tv show which showed old horror films. Not that these things are going to make much difference but it's interesting to see.

Didn't Anton Yelchin play Chekhov in the new Star Trek movie? I think he's been in some other stuff too. I want to say Charlie Bartlett, but I'm probably wrong. This could either go really well, or really bad. Fright Night is fairly near and dear to my heart, but I try to remain open to the possibility of a good (or better than the original) remake. I've seen some. Don't remember which ones, but my memory sucks anyhow.

I'd rather see a Night of the Creeps remake. But David Tennant = win.

Let's she if she can do a better job in the role than Amanda Bearse did.
Recognize that name?
That's right, in the original Fright Night, Amy Peterson was played by the actress who would later go on to play Marcy Darcy on Married With Children!

Ditto.
Seeing McLovin and Tennant in the same movie's castlist reminded me that I had heard about this sometime ago, but I wasn't sure if it would come out (like the aborted Good Omens with Robin Williams and Johnny Depp).
My one worry is if Tennant has to do an American accent:
|
"Life is a waste of time. Time is a waste of life. Get wasted all the time, and you'll have the time of your life!" |

I remember Amanda Bearse (how do you pronounce that - like "bearsss, like da bearsss" or bear-see), who is a lesbian.
Know who else is a lesbian now? Kelly McGillis. Witness just got 10x hotter.

I like david tennant but that accent is very enunciatey.Having said that I see no reason for him to use an American accent in the movie.

And here is what David Tennant will look like:

Well this comes out soon so I thought I'd bump this. Does anyone plan on seeing it? I was pissed about it at first, but I'll probably check it out just to do it.
