I just started Persona 4. You guys make it sound pretty daunting.

The fighs itself are not that difficult, but maxing all the Social Links is impossible (and i really mean impossible) without using a FAQ from the very beginning of the game till the very end. What is something you have to have nerve for because it can piss you off looking every 5 Minutes at your Laptop in search of a right answer in a dialogue or something.

it was the best of times
it was the blurst of times

Braid is a game I loved but never finished. Some of the puzzles are just beyond me, and having to look up a guide takes away from the satisfaction of solving the puzzle yourself. So, I'm stuck, not to mention the fact that I just recently found out that there are special stars you're supposed to collect as well, not to mention the fact that everywhere I turn, I see someone trying to spoil the ending.

So here's to you Mrs. Robinson. People love you more- oh, nevermind.

Not that I love them, but I played Lufia and the Fortress of Doom, Paladins Quest and Brainlord a long time ago, however I only rented them once, never owned them. Maybe I'll give Lufia another try. I remember liking that one the most.

Bioshock, just too intense for me, I've seen it finished, but I just can't stomach it much past the forest of arcadia.

Evolution, for Dreamcast. I like playing this a lot but I wish now that it was a game boy game instead of a dreamcast one. I don't have the time to ever sit with it.

Morrowind. I've beat it a whole bunch but never without console commanding at some point. It's a beautiful game and most times I don't want to wait to level up and go see it all.

Jet Grind Radio. It gets too difficult when you do the past storyline with the gold rhino guys. It is a phenomenal game though, I wish I could play through like a free play to explore it all without the cops and other gangs.

Castlevania - I could never get past Frankenstein. I actually beat him once, but I didn't pay attention and walked into Igor's last fireball and died. I haven't touched the game since.

Donkey Kong 64 - I got all the way to the final boss room and all I needed was a nintendo coin. I let my cousin borrow it and she deleted my save. I've tried to play since, but the game has not aged well.

Paladin's Quest is an awesome game, way better than Lufia and the Fortress of Doom in my opinion.

Paladin's Quest is pretty... Unique. It's definitely a game that's unlike any others, very oldschool and very odd at the same time. I quite enjoyed it and it's mercenary system. I say definitely give it another chance.

The first Lufia game on the other hand is kind of a bore, despite being a huge fan of Lufia 2, the original just didn't age well and is a frustrating slow paced grindfest. Lufia 2 is a prequel to Lufia, so you can safely play 2 without having ever played 1, which I honestly recommend doing.

Police Quest 3 and the VGA remake of PQ1, I love the series and have beat all of them but these, the shitty unintuitive driving RUINS the two games. Either make the car controllable via the arrow keys like the original DOS Police Quest, or do away with controlling it directly like in Police Quest 2 and 4. HORRIBLE design!

I remember in one of them, you had to inspect some tiny area of your car before going out in it or you would be killed and have to start over. It was just funny in my mind that someone was like "Yes, that has to be in the final product."

Well it was a police procedure simulation. That was the point.

Flying Dragon: The Secret Scroll, for the NES. It's not a hard game, but I have never gotten around to beating it.

The 11th Hour (sequel to The 7th Guest). There was a puzzle that took place while looking through a microscope near the end of the game that I could not beat. You play against the computer and it ALWAYS won. It was one of the puzzles that you couldn't skip either. Oh well.

SWAT 4: Technically I never beat it because the final mission at Threshold Research Institute, I'd either end up soloing it and getting less then passing or I just get shot by the one guy left in the map.

Yes it was the tire inspection, if you do not perform the vehicle walk around to make sure you have no flat tires you get a flat tire and have to start over.

Not sure why a flat tire is a game over situation, but there you go... Confused

Return Fire for 3DO. In some of the later levels you get one vehicle and you run out of ammo and gas so you have to be careful not to destroy the ammo and fuel depots while constantly moving to not get killed by the enemy helicopters and there are false flag towers everywhere and a shitload of mines, turrets and walls to get past. You can be playing a level for an hour and then get killed, it's so fucking intense and frustrating, and the whole time dramatic classical music is playing, adding to the tension. I have had the game for a long time and I still have probably 10-12 levels to go before it is complete.

The fucking grim reaper on the next level is worse. The hardest part is getting to him with enough life and a good enough weapon to beat him.

Maybe it was Paladin's Quest I liked more. Like I said it was a long time ago when I played them.

Use the Holy Water, dude. Make the Reaper pretty easy.

Yeah, if you do it right, there is no reason to fear the Reaper.

I played through most of Assassin's Creed 2 and it was pretty fun but I traded it back in to Gamestop without beating it. Something about those games just bores me towards the end, I played and beat 1 but remember feeling like it was more a chore towards the end.

Yeah, that's the way I've beaten him before. Except 90% of the time I get there I'm usually 1 hit away from dying. So I get to him with the holy water and the III (triple) hit, then get him right where I want him, then one of his sickles hits me right when I'm about to kill him. Pisses me off. I've beaten the game before though. Not many times.

I can see that. I'm personally a big fan of the series, but I really can't go back and play the first one again, because I always feel obligated to save all of the citizens and get all of the viewpoints, and eventually get bored, and I'll admit that the endings all tend to feel a bit rushed.

The ending of one felt like it was from a different game. The whole game is running and climbing and fighting only when you have to and then crazy sci-fi teleporting boss fight! What...

You guys use Holy Water on the Reaper? I've always used boomerangs. Seems the most effective to me.

Yeah, I agree with the tasking nature of the AC games. The first one made me just want to get to all of the view points and get a complete map, I didn't care at all about the flags or the templars.

I liked playing Crisis Core for my PSP, but I never beat it, mostly because I know what is going to happen.
