So who all have you gone to see this year?
I have been painfully broke all year, so I haven't seen much, but I did manage to get to a Bad Religion concert. Rise Against as there too, and they put on a good show, but BR is where it's at as far as I'm concerned.

So far I've seen Interpol, Zola Jesus, and Cold Cave.
Interpol was great; the opening band was School of Seven Bells, and the vocalist was fantastic and the music was very majestic and made me feel like floating. Plus they incorporated a fantastic level of feedback. Interpol themselves were fantastic as well; the vocalist sounds even better live and they were probably the most energetic band I've seen yet.
Zola Jesus was...an eye-opening experience. Before the show, I got to meet her; we talked for about ten minutes, she signed all the albums I brought of hers, she hugged me, and I even got to take my picture with her (which was my profile picture on Facebook for about two months). The concert itself was phenomenal; she's a trained opera singer, so her voice had a huge range, and I've never heard a voice more beautiful than hers. Oh, and I stood literally directly in front of the stage, where I was two feet away from the band the whole time. I've discovered that I much prefer smaller venues in concerts, as it allows a better connection with the artist.
Cold Cave was awesome; I stood in the pit directly in front of the band (they aren't really a mosh-type band, so it was more of a dance pit than anything), and it was in an art gallery, so the venue was small. In between each song they had a lot of shoegaze-y noise, which was really cool for my synesthesia.
Aaaaand I'm seeing The Pains of Being Pure at Heart on August 5th.

I might see Korn, just cause I've never seen them, but it feels like if I really wanted to see them I should have done it way earlier, so I dunno.

Technically a music festival, but I was at Bonnaroo over the weekend. It was all kinda of awesome. My personal two favorite shows were Bassnectar and Girl Talk, but pretty much everyone was on their game during the festival.

The only one I went to was Primus a few weeks back in Omaha.
Then I was pissed to find out that they were coming here...ugh.
It was a great concert overall, even if Les didn't want to play any of their hits.

Yup...that was the set! At least I got to hear Sgt. Baker...which is probably my second favorite song.
Yeah, I mean....I don't expect them to play every hit or anything...just songs that people want to hear. I completely understand why he wouldn't want to play Wynona's Big Brown Beaver.
But yeah, I was at least expecting maybe;
My Name is Mud (obviously)
Shake Hands With Beef
Nature Boy (isn't that where your screenname is taken from? )
Tommy the Cat (another obvious choice)
Mr. Krinkle
Pork Soda
DMV

:O my screen name is from My Name is Mud.
Pork Soda is an odd choice. I haven't really seen them playing Nature Boy, DMV or Mr. Krinkle that much either to be honest. At least in the bootlegs i have they never seem to play them.
It's odd that they have started playing Over the Falls again as well as Fisticuffs i've noticed. I guess cause Herb is gone they are sort of removing the double kick stuff... or i dunno?
Another standard i noticed missing: Here Come the Bastards.
There's loads of songs i'd like to see them play if i saw them live which they rarely play:
Ol' Diamondback Sturgeon, Glass Sandwich, Professor Nutbutter, Too Many Puppies - which is also kind rare which is weird.
EDIT: Actually you went to the concert and they have been doing it for a long time so you've obviously noticed they jam more. Maybe those songs you can't really fit jams into.
Ones like Tommy the Cat you can but i guess they just didn't play it. Like Mr Krinkle maybe not. Jerry was a Racecar Driver, any version you hear of it when they play it live now there is no jamming in it!

So far this year I have seen GWAR, Shpongle and Rammstein. I am going to see Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer and Anthrax(all in the same show) in September. I may fit in some other concerts before that, I will have to see who's coming around though.
