Oh, i didn't mean to offend anybody. Are there actually religous people in here? I only slightly touched religious themes so i suppose i'am kinda brute when i it comes to them. I apologize.
I don't believe that there is a god anyway so technically it was no offence.

I'm supposedly Christian and I don't even know what the fuck you're talking about
And those who take apocalyptic idiots so fucking seriously they kill themselves and others can go to hell, and probably will anyway (if it exists )

After the Rapture, we'll throw away every government in the world in favor of a single dude who knows what to do now that a huge segment of the population vanished. Everyone will suddenly allow the new government to track their every move and finance, plant 666-shaped chips into their right hands and foreheads, and execute anyone who rejects these on the spot. But since the world will explode in five months, apparently the most well-known part of the Revelation prophecies will never come around, unless they're actually happening right now and we haven't noticed yet.
That said, I'm just going by my memory of the direct-to-video Apocalypse movies so I might have some of the details wrong.

I dont believe it does exist, I mean for a god whose main quality is supposed to be love and who teaches about justice, forgiveness etc. etc.
70 - 80 years of sin getting you an eternity of torment and suffering... just doesnt make sense, why would a god of love allow anyone to suffer eternally for such a short period of sinning?
Fire meant destruction to the hebrews and as such was used to symbolize such, any reference to a lake of fire meant to be destroyed forever, no hope of returning from the grave
lastly
sheol translates to the common grave of mankind
gehennah was a real physical place outside of Jerusalem, a garbage dump where the Hebrews would discard anything they thought was unclean including corpses that were to be burned (destroyed)
this is just my opinion though

I'm fine with the idea of having a general belief or acceptance that there might be some form of afterlife and/or a diety.
But when people start applying specific ideas to it, that's where I can't accept it. None of us are dead. We have no idea of what's out there. Stop pretending you do.

In my opinion it's all about faith. The degree of sinning has nothing to do with the level of belief that there is something better. You can be a crack smoking snake blowing cheap tipping douchebag king amongst douchbags, but as long as you pray for salvation and forgiveness (meaning you recognize the wrong you have done and desire to do no more despite your inability to make that fantasy come to life you should be set. The way I look at it is that it's a faith based system, which I will admit directly clashes with the science based systems that insist you prove something exists before you acknowledge it .
Everything is slightly shittier that before, like a forgettable mime dropped a deuce in the punch bowl of a party no one wanted to be at, more than most the hosteees!

This is mostly correct if you're going for the literal interpretation; however, there's a lot of wacky off the wall interpretations too. For example, some people believe that having a Social Security Number is having the "mark of the Beast" that's talked about in Revelations. Not saying I believe that because I don't, but don't just disregard everything that it says because it sounds really really weird.
I can't wait to see what his next excuse will be when once again nothing happens on October 21st.

With any luck, he'll be dead by then.
I suppose I should shut my trap about these things, especially since I can't match their kind when it comes to Biblical oneupmanship.

OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) - Religious broadcaster Harold Camping says he and his Family Radio network are embarrassed that the world didn't end on Oct. 21 as he predicted.
In a message posted on his network's website, the 90-year-old Camping says, "When it comes to trying to recognize the truth of prophecy, we're finding that it is very, very difficult."
Camping also apologizes for saying last May that people who didn't believe his prophecy that Christians would be taken up to heaven in the rapture on May 21 probably were not saved.
Camping says, "We're ready to cry out and weep before God: `Oh Lord, you have the truth, we don't have it."'
Some listeners who believed Camping sold their belongings to help pay for thousands of billboards to spread his doomsday message.
