As part of their refulled advertising campaign, Nintendo Australia's Mario Kart Wii mini-site features a new way of destroying someone's sanity with a barrage of blue shells online. Head on over to the Facebook section and pick your weapon.
You can choose items from the game to either attack or defend, so it'll sort of play out like a turn-based affair. If you post say, a Star to your wall, it might stop a virtual Bullet Bill. I don't know. But just imagine your friends logging onto Facebook to discover they've been attacked by a Bob-omb! Just imagine.
"No, NO" they'd say, unplugging the computer and throwing it against the wall. Everyone would laugh and clap their hands in constipated fury.
There are other things on the Mario Kart Wii site to check out while you're there, including the chance to win a cinema session for you and 30 mates to play the game on the big screen, then watch Cars 2. There's an official scorecard to download and everything! |

i hardly use any of the facebook apps, but this is a pretty cool concept.

Maybe the next Kart game should have even more alt versions of characters already available.
Baby DK, Baby Waluigi, Baby Rosalina, Baby Dry Bowser
Dry Bones Yoshi, Dry Bones Birdo, Dry Bones Peach, Dry Baby Boswer
and so forth...

That isn't fair.
Sure the rubberbanding was kinda intense, and there were too many blue shells. But overall, it's pretty good.
I like the roster, and the new levels are pretty fucking rad.
Also, I LOVE using the bikes.

playing with friends online was great.
i never had lag issues playing online and it was a lot better than playing the AI.

I guess it wasn't the worst game ever, but it was definitely worse than Mario Kart DS. You expect the console counterpart to be better but this time around it just wasn't.

thats not fair either. Mario Kart hit its summit of greatness w/the DS iteration. anything else would naturally not measure up to that high standard

The portable ones are always really good, for some reason. Never really had the DS version, but whenever I played it, I enjoyed the hell out of it.

My only problem with Mario Kart Wii was that no matter how well you played you could never build a comfortable lead. Oh and I hated the tilt controls.

This also is not fair, and is made of not and fair. Building a lead in the SNES Mario Kart was indeed possible.

Double Dash was my favorite.
Also, you can all expect some sort of attack from me over this.
