I got hauled off to see this last night. Wiki page here.

The plot was interesting but the execution of it was awful. The pacing was bad, and the movie relied too much on voice-over to explain what was going on, absolutely all the back story, the main character's thoughts, everything. Very overused. The acting was also terrible. I dunno who the main guy was - Brandon Routh - but he can't act his way out of a paper bag. Sorry. Razz

All that said, there was some really great humorous lines in the film, and some of the jokes were absolutely perfectly executed.

Super cheesy with bad acting, but still some okay humor and a plot that you really, really want to like. I feel like if this had been in another director's hands it could have been good.

I would say it wouldn't be a bad movie to watch at night with some friends when you're drunk. Don't waste money on it, though.

He's the same dude from Zach and Miri Make a Porno at the Highschool Reunion who Miri is trying to hook up with, but he turns out to be Gay.

Which by the way is a fucking hilarious scene because of Justin Long.

but I could tell from the Previews that, that movie was going to be garbage.

I want to see this movie. Brandon Routh is an underrated actor. He was very good as Shaw on the TV show Chuck. He usually gets shit for his work as Superman, but that's not really his fault. He wasn't really given any opportunity to act in that film, and the script was fucking awful. Hell, Kevin Spacey was awful in that and he's an excellent actor.

It sucks that this is getting negative reviews.

I'm just tired of undead themed media at the moment. This looks like I'd enjoy it in a few years on DVD or something.

But yeah, I like Brandon Routh as well but this movie just doesn't interest me right now.

Yeah I hear you. The undead thing is kinda everywhere, but it's also something that I've always loved, so I skip the bad stuff (Twilight) and try to catch the good ones. The plot sounded cool to me, kind of like a male version of Anita Blake perhaps.

You guys say he's a good actor so I'm trying to give him the benefit of the doubt. The script was awful so that probably made it difficult for him to shine. It doesn't help his attitude the whole way through was "Stand here and look moody. Brood." The girl in the movie was a terrible actor. The main guy's sidekick wasn't bad, but I felt like he was overacting a lot.

Again I say, don't waste money on it, but give it a shot. Just don't expect to be wow'ed out of your seat.

Also, for some bizarre reason, the theater we were in had the sound up way too loud, so the voiceover, action sequences, etc were all borderline deafening. It was like being at a live concert in the second row.
