Okay, you asked for it, and here it is. The 2011 Forum Battle! You mostly know the deal by now, I'm sure. Things are going to change up just a little bit, though.

First, we're keeping the team format. However, it is no longer a "tag team". Your team can be bigger. Up to 4 people can be on a team. And if you want, your team can be smaller...you can enter by yourself, without a teammate. So, in short, your team can be from 1 to 4 people.

Here's some regs and rules to chew on:

-Assisting me this year is Sehkamaenzo.

-Each team must have a team leader. Don't worry, for the most part, the leader just organizes the team and stuff. The main thing is, the team leader needs to qualify, and qualifying is extremely easy. You need to meet one of the following criteria to qualify as team leader (not all of them, just one):
*Six months on the forums (a join date of December 1, 2010 or earlier)
*Six months of continuous IRC presence (as shown by our logs)
*50 posts as of May 1, 2011
*Special permission from Syd Lexia

-Each team can have up to 3 other members. There are no requirements to be a team member, aside from being accepted by the leader.

-To enter a team, the leader sends me a PM, or posts in this thread, the name of the team and the members. Each members also needs to PM or post here saying they're on the team. You can change your team makeup around as often as you wish until the Battle starts, but once it does, your team is set. If you don't see y our team listed on the first post here, you're not in yet.

-Teams will face off against each other bracket-style, and the team with the most votes will be the winner. In case of a tie, I will be the tiebreaker. If I'm involved, one of my assistants will break it. If all of us are involved, Hacker (Hacker) breaks ties. To make it easier for me to keep track of matches, ties will be broken by subtracting my vote from the total. For example, if team A and team B are tied, and I voted for A, I take away my vote for A and team B wins.

-You are not allowed to cheat. If I need to define cheating for you, well, you probably shouldn't enter. Campaigning off-site (via Twitter and the like) is allowed, however you are not allowed to draw in non-members of the forums to vote for you. And we are aware the poll system is flawed, but this year, it's just going to be fucking dealt with like big boys and girls. Unless you have more significant evidence of bullshittery than "Oh, the vote totals went up really quick in the last minute!", well, it's something to gossip about, but don't expect anything to be done about it. Any disputes will be handled by an ad-hoc committee of myself, Syd, Fernin, my assistant(s), and anyone else I can snag at the time.

-The last reg is to have fun. We saw some awesome stuff last year, let's see if we can see some more this year.

Sign-ups are due May 22nd, 2011, though the deadline could be extended depending on my life at the time. The true deadline is when brackets are pulled.
