First, you need to download and install an internet browser that is capable of displaying JPEG and GIF images. I recommend Mosaic 1.0, it looks like it can do that just fine and I've been using it for about a month now. Then you point over the picture, right click it, and pick "Save Picture".

It's nice, but I can't help but agree. Unlike BBS, you can't really talk to people that quickly on it. There just isn't enough speed and bandwidth for it right now.

I am using this World Wide Web from a friends and am quite interested in getting a computer of my own to "surf" or whatever it was they call it. Do you guys have any recommendations as to what type of computer I should use and where I can get a dial-up service provider?

My only real advice is to make certain your children aren't racking up the modem hours. Once you exceed the maximum on your plan, it can get expensive very quickly.
