Cute, but not even almost true. Wolfenstein 3D, the first popular FPS, was released in May 1992. Super Mario Kart debuted in August 1992 in Japan, and then in September in the US. Also, Mario Kart is not first person. It uses a third person over-the-shoulder view.
On top of that, Catacomb 3-D, released in November 1991 and designed by John Carmack and John Romero, also predates it. As does Catacomb's licensed sequel, The Catacomb Abyss.
According to Wikipedia, the first FPS is either Spasim, released in 1974, or Maze War, released around the same time.

Also, Catacomb Abyss was the first FPS I ever played and beat legit. I still play it once a year or so.

Yes blue shell hit's person in first place, first person shooter, ha ha, yeah i got it. Irrespective though, i wasn't sure if the thread was serious (see posts 2 and 3) or not, and your post was just a joke and was actually asking what you thought (as i see lots of debate on what is the first fps..) and since there is a mixture of replies and it was easier to post that instead of finding another witty picture.
