I never liked or got in to any FF games, but while making a purchase of old NES carts that were untouched and still in dustsleeves (whne not boxed totally) I picked up Final Fantasy. Will have to give it a try now I guess....

I'm hoping they might port that PSP Final Fantasy IV game to 3DS. That could be awesome.

Maybe Nintendo will use some of their usual ass backwards logic to use this occasion to release FFVI for the VC on monday?

The real question is, will the VC exist on the next generation of consoles?

3DS is nextgen, and it will have a shop in May or June. So yes, nextgen Nintendo does and will have a VC. The question is, will it be unhampered by size limits, as the Wii one is? I'd love to see CarnEvil or Time Gal on the VC.

I agree that 'I think' that they will have another VC on their next console, but have they stated so? Will all previously owned VC games work?
Also, Nintendo doesn't always treat handhelds and TV consoles equally. Just because one happens to get certain features doesn't entitle the other to those same features.

Yes.
"Players will be able to purchase downloadable classic games to play on their 3DS Virtual Console, and the available games will be culled from the Game Boy, Game Boy Color, and Game Gear portable systems. There will also be TurboGrafx-16 games available on the service. The 3DS Virtual Console is expected to launch at the end of May."
And:
"Beyond that, all the games currently available on the DSiWare service will be also be for sale on the 3DS."

Holy crap the "Why FFIV is Amazing" article is poorly written... This amazing game deserves better than that. Also, Atma, you should definitely update your avatar to Kain's new sprite in the PSP version!

Next year will be the 20th anniversary of Final Fantasy V. Hopefully that game gets the recognition too. It sure as hell deserves it.

Played through about 2 hours of the complete collection on my PSP last night. I love this game, my first true RPG adventure and it still holds the test of time. I love the PSP, its so bad.
-On a side note, I now need 24,998 Ogre Battle carts for the Super Nintendo before I seize control of the world! Muhahahaha!

That sounds like a great idea.
Time to get on the hunt.
EDIT: Done.
Also, just got my copy of the new FFIV, but I haven't had time to play it yet. I'm very excited. I need to finish Tactics: Ogre first or it's going to get seriously neglicted.

Syd Lexia: In Lucasian fashion, this game is presented as the fifth episode of the Ogre Battle saga, though the first four episodes don't actually exist... at least not yet. It doesn't matter though, this game is awesome. Good luck finding an original copy though; despite a warm reception from both critics and gamers, only 25,000 SNES cartridges were ever produced.
