I can completely relate to this, seeing as I see this quite frequently. Rolling Eyes Is there anybody else out there in Sydlexia that can?

Not gonna watch it all but yes, I can imagine that big fucking baby consumers who are always right can be just as annoying in a guitar shop as they can be in a wireless phone store or hell even a deli.

For the record I've got an Ibanez Destroyer DTX-120 which I run through a Marshall Combo, no pedals, bass and treble to 10 mid to 5, with a flanger pedal and a foot switch for clean to distortion when I'm feeling fancy.

Yeah i don't sell guitars but the things the customer said i have heard from many musicians.

Although i play guitar i don't know all that music about it in terms of equipment and repair/maintenance etc.

However my tale is a bit different. Pretty much in my area there is one guitar store. ONE! The sales people are just tools, you walk in and they are playing some music in the background really loud and by that i mean they are playing Satriani so loud that it seeps into your fucking soul.

I was lucky to grow up with the Great Great House of Guitars in Rochester, NY. They have easily the biggest selection of guitars, drums, and other instruments than anywhere else I've ever been. The best thing is they're locally owned and operated by a bunch of crazy musicians from the 60's.

See, I work with Guitar Center and the crew we have at this store is hands down the best and most hands on in our region. We are at the top of the ranker, week in and week out.

It's amazing to me sometimes how difficult some of the customers that stroll into our store truly are. This depiction is actually pretty spot on with some people's ridiculous requests and lack of product knowledge. We are gear experts, and by no means ever attempt to belittle anyone or make anybody feel stupid for their lack of knowledge. Those sales associates who do....do not work here anymore.

It is our job to help people make music, and get them the right gear.

I was just about to brag about my local guitar shop and how awesome it is, but while searching for links I found that Sluggo's Music is closing (actually already closed) and that my favorite and really only guitar teacher who operated out of the back of said local music store passed away long ago... Crying

I'm sorry to hear about that Blackout!

Yeah, I've seen those customers many times. We have one chain guitar store, and one local, mostly vintage store in town. It kinda sucks because the chain store (Long and McQuade) is really small. They're really great for ordering and financing though.

Does anybody here have a Ross Rifle?

Anyone have a rough idea how much it would cost to turn this in to a 7 string?
Image

I'm talking rip out the guts and re machine everything to fit seven string stuff (bigger bridge bigger neck slot plus bigger neck to go along bigger pickup holes plus the pickups themselves) and whatnot.

Probably just cheaper to buy a new 7 string huh? Confused

Cheaper and much easier just to buy one. I think they start in the low-mid $300's in ebay. When I was younger, I strung a guitar with a low B by dropping the high E string. It was fun for a few weeks, but I think it can take a toll on your neck.

You have heard musicians that sound like the customer in this video??? There is absolutely NO way that guy is as good as he says he is. Nobody is that involved with playing guitar and that stupid when it comes to cost for a good guitar. He is basically asking for a Ferrari at the price of a Corolla. Just an asshole of a person. His Chinese guitar for $700.00 and won't buy an American Strat at under $1,200.00? LOL. The guy is a moron.
