Did anyone else really enjoy this game? Looking back at the game, it seems slightly generic but back in 1991 it was fantastic. I recently played through it for the first time in many moons and the game still plays fairly well, looks great and the music is just as good as I remembered. I have more fun with this game than I do with Ninja Gaiden at least.

I never stayed interested enough to make it past the boat, I'll have to check it out again. It's bound to to be better than Demon Sword.

Damn. For some reason I confused this game with "The LAST Ninja" and got super excited. I never played Shadow of the Ninja, but I played the SHIT out of Last Ninja, horrible jumps, controls and all.

Yeah, I love this game and have the pal-version in my collection (called Blue Shadow) Another great game deserving a spot on the top 100 nes list imo. I love the fact that you can play it with a friend. Also, the music and atmosphere is really good. However, the difficulty is a bit off in my opinion, I remember being at a birthday party at a guy I only barely knew back in 1993 or something, and becoming so bored that I turned on his nes and beated this game right there during an hour or something. Great game!
