In a pinch, I actually find Bud Light to be not-disgusting. It's not great, or even good, by any definition, but it's the best choice if you want am ubiquitous, dirt-cheap domestic.

I'd replace it with Alaskan Amber. I don't know if that counts as "cheap" in the lower 48, but when I was in college, it was more popular (and cheaper) than Bud, Miller or Coors and was the go-to cheap drink of choice at every local pub. And dear GOD was it the foulest thing. Ugh. Tasteless except for this horrible, disgusting bitter sensation, and just enough carbonation to make you want to gag.

I really don't understand why Fosters or Rolling Rock would be on here. They are fucking delicious. This list was clearly made by some 22 year old hipster in his first year of drinking.

Meh PBR isn't too terrible either if you are broke and at the bar with friends, because they are usually only a dollar. Also that list is missing Stag which tells me they don't know what they are talking about, especially when they put Rolling Rock and Foster's on there... I agree with Woodzy here some young hipster made this list in his first few years of drinking.

PBR is great for only $1. or even $2.

as sideway pointed out last night in IRC, this list doesnt include steel reserve. thats probably one of the worst malt liquors out there. it doesnt include king cobra either. and if it was going to include olde english, it definitely should have included the olde english high gravity variation of it.

1) Schaefer - never had it
2) Pabst Blue Ribbon - when you consider the price, you have to realize its cheap.
3) Red White & Blue - never had it
4) Keystone - pretty bad, but also cheap. so you get what you pay for
5) Schlitz - im actually a fan of schlitz
6) Rheingold - never had it
7) Black Label - i dont think i've had it
8) Bud Light - not bad tasting. too bad i cant get drunk off of it
9) Miller Light - not quite as tasty as BL, but i get a better buzz off of it
10) Busch Light - cheap beer
11) Natural Light - this is even worse than PBR
12) Coors Light - out of all lights beers, has the highest % alcohol
13) Rolling Rock - quite tasty actually
14) Red Dog - do they even make this anymore?
15) Narragansett - never had it
16) Milwaukee’s Best - pretty horrible
17) Fosters - not bad. especially in that huge fucking can
18) Olde English - my 40 of choice
19) Icehouse - pretty terrible
20) Hamm’s - never had it
21) Genessee - never even heard of it
22) High Life - its whatev. i'd rather have miller lite than this
23) Old Milwaukee - made by the same company as schlitz. i prefer schlitz
24) Michelob Light - not that bad, but i prefer michelob ultra
25) National Bohemian - never had it

People can take their flavored beer with fruit in it and shove it up their ass. Beer is the drink of the blue collar. At least it is in this country. I would much rather drink a PBR or a Bud than most of the pretentious micro-brews people pay $9.50 for a pint of. Fuck that.

1) Schaefer - I don't recall anything special, but a friend of mine loved this in highschool
2) Pabst Blue Ribbon - Best value you can find and still drink it.
3) Red White & Blue - never heard of it.
4) Keystone - Literally has no taste
5) Schlitz - Agreed. Blue and Red Bull 40oz are great.
6) Rheingold - never heard of it.
7) Black Label - never heard of it.

Bud Light - It's ok to drink if I'm not looking to get drunk.
9) Miller Light - not quite as tasty as BL, but i get a better buzz off of it -Agreed.
10) Busch Light - Kinda like Keystone to me.
11) Natural Light - I think a case of this is handed out to all freshmen along with that John Belushi poster and a copy of Bob Marley Legend.
12) Coors Light - Not bad, but I don't understand why it's so popular.
13) Rolling Rock - I don't like it. It just gives me a stomach ache never got me drunk once.
14) Red Dog - 16 oz cans are the best for drinking games.
15) Narragansett - never heard of it
16) Milwaukee’s Best - The beast was ok, but there are alternatives.
17) Fosters - I like Fosters

Olde English - I prefer Country Club, but not a bad substitute
19) Icehouse - pretty terrible- agreed
20) Hamm’s - My father in law loves this stuff, comes out of St. Paul
21) Genessee - My home town brew from Rochester. They also brew JW Dundee's Honey Brown.
22) High Life - I'd drink it but there's better options available
23) Old Milwaukee - same as high life
24) Michelob Light - As a kid, I always thought the bottle with the foil looked cool.
25) National Bohemian - never heard of it.

Haha I drink fruit flavored beer. :3 I can't help it that Leinenkugel's Berry Weiss is so fucking delicious. I actually don't drink a lot of beer though so I haven't drank many of the ones on this list, but I know that PBR isn't anywhere near as bad as it is made out to be. Now Natty Light and Keystone are pretty bad I'll give them that, but some of those beers on that list are not terrible depending on your cash situation and can't be beaten for the price.

I'll stick with my local beers. (Which there are many, and quite a few for the same price as these listed.)

Blue Moon, Weinhard's Pale Ale, and Black Butte Stout are my big three.

There's a reason Portland is called "Beervana" and "Brewtopia."

I'd like to drink that shit too Knyte, but normal people are not paying 14 dollars for a six pack. I could see that being beneficial if you drank literally one beer a day and were only enjoying it for the taste. But that's gay.

Black Butte is $7 a six pack.
Henry's is like $5.

I wouldn't call these top shelf beers.

Oregon is a bit different when it comes to beer. I remember years ago, I was working a gas station not far from a bunch of hotels that usually housed out of towners. This guy told me his wife was from originally from Oregon and told him to bring back a pack of "Dead Guy Beer". He thought she was messing with him because of the name. I told him, that he probably meant "Dead Guy Pale Ale".

He said that was it, then asked where to find it. I told any grocery store. He looked at me like I was crazy.

I sent him to the local Safeway. He return a short time later with this weird look on his face, and thanked me for the help. He was apparently blown away by the store's beer isle, which we just take for granted. I guess the rest of the US just has Bud, Coors, Miller, etc in the grocery stores and corner stores carry the malts.

Here. Most beer isles run the entire length of the isle, and on both side. Your major stores carry about 60 - 100 different brands of beer. I guess this isn't normal?

True, I suppose there are regional cost differences. When I was in Colorado, Blue Moon was like 7 dollars a six pack and it usually costs like 12 bucks here in VA.

If I've got the money to spend I prefer red ales like these.

I also really like this a lot.

Can't find a picture but that German beer that is super dark and has a weird ceramic hinged cap instead of a twist off cap is really good too, I buy it from the local German Bakery when I get a chance, it's like some weird imported stuff.

But if I'm feeling thrifty it's Olde English 800 all the way. used to be Steel Reserve but I don't like 211 anymore, something about it tastes too beery if that makes sense.

Ohh oh I almost forgot, I really really like this stuff!

It's got that crazy ass strong hoppy malty whatever flavor of the other expensive hoity toity beers but is 8.5 so it kicks you on your ass, I think this is my new favorite, but damn it's expensive.

Honestly I'll drink almost any beer, it's wine and liquor I'm more selective about.

Oh and Fosters is OK, I kind of like the fat can instead of the tall can, it's something different.

Anybody else ever seen Elysian Men's Room Drinking Team Original Red Ale in their state? It's produced here in Seattle for our local Rock station's morning show, is poorly name after the said show, and is 5 bucks a pint because half of the proceeds go to a local Veteran's Affairs charity. I was wondering how widespread it is.

It's really good, but damn it's 5 bucks a bottle. Sad

Truer words sir, truer words. Also pbr isn't wonderful but compared to bud or natty of any kind it's quite drinkable. Rolling rock is good but I might be biased since I usually steal it from work.

When I get beer it's usually either MooseHead or MooseHead Light Lime. I'd love to see this person's favorite beer list. They just really seem to hate pale or light beer.

When I was in college, a 30 pack of stones was $9.99, and they often went on sale for $7.99. You do what you gotta do, and there's nothing wrong with any of those beers per your taste.

I agree with Woodzy. Sounds like the hipster who likes to piss on everything the masses does wrote this.

I'll admit that I haven't had a stone in years though. I drink Newcastle, Carlsberg or MGD 64.

My taste in beer has shifted, back when all I wanted to do was get smashed as fast as possible I'd go for cheap strong and lots of it, and poo poo anything that didn't fit that criteria.

Nowadays I enjoy all different kinds for what they are, and don't approach ingesting alcohol like I'm a fat kid stuck face first in a cake. I suppose it's a good thing.

i like boddingtons myself. but its pricey & they only sell in 4 packs.

in terms of mexican beer, Dos XX Lager is my fave w/Tecate a close second.
