You're going to want to talk to the younger folks, too; I'd offer some help, but the SAT has changed SO much since I took it (A DECADE AGO Shocked ) that I'm pretty well useless. Once you know what you need, I can sure help with the English and writing portion though Very Happy

Back in MY day there WAS no writing portion! There was just reading, and math! We had these thingies called "analogies" (god those were awful), and you had to practice them for months beforehand! And we had only 1600 points! And we were grateful for EVERY SINGLE ONE of those points! Now git off my lawn! *shakes cane angrily*

I'm gonna have to disagree with Snes. You don't need the freaking study guide. It is a waste of money, especially when you can find free study guides and previous tests online on the test websites.

I took my SATs back in 1997/1998 and haven't looked at SAT materials until this thread. I took some of the practice questions and realized a few things.

1. The questions are very similar to how they were
2. Algebra, and basic trigonometry skills are necessary
3. I haven't solved an equation in a while.
4. I should have taken meds to make the test more reasonable for me. As I was taking it, my mind was bouncing like crazy... like how it was back in high school. OCD/ADD fucking sucks.

I haven't taken the ACT in a long while, but I never cracked open a study guide for it and I scored well over 21. And, well, no offense to me, but I'm kind of a moron. Very Happy

Seriously though, Atma, you probably won't have any problems. Between the two of them, I've been told the ACT is easier.
