That ASP is no joke.
We use those for our security when we stand watches for the Navy.
We have 3 zones we can hit you in. Green, Yellow, or Red.
Green is spots like the thigh, or bicep area.
Yellow is your elbows, knee-caps, ankles, shins, wrists, shoulders, something that could break a bone, but its not going to kill you.
Red is your face, neck, throat, chest, and groin. Something that can permanently disfigure you or kill you, and believe me, it would not take much effort to do it with.
It's a fucking steel stick that wrecks people's lives. Of course, we are trained to hit Green areas unless our life is in direct danger, then move to yellow, and only using red in EXTREME cases.

I mentioned this once in the IRC but one time me and my friend did get mugged/robbed. Him being the retarded ass stoner he is (i have yet to try any form of drugs but he needed someone to go with) tries to pick up some weed from these seniors we have never met before, but according to him they were legit so we meet them up in a section of a somewhat bad neighborhood. So we get there first, and we wait, and wait, and wait, and wait. Thats when i noticed that they were sitting there about 6 houses away chilling for about 15 minutes before rolling up. Thats when i knew we were fucked, but like the retards we were, we decided to stay anyway. So they then drive up, we get up from the curb we were sitting on then 4 dudes get out of the car. My friend gets grabbed and thrown to the ground while i get punches thrown at me, i got hit maybe twice but i get a really good kick right in the guys balls and i punch him in the face which is when he fell over. I honestly thought i had a good chance at fighting the other two guys until this huge guy punched me and i went down hard, then i got kicked a few times in the chest and head and i decided to not get back up haha.
They took the cash we had, told us not to fuck with them, and drove off. I had a black eye and my buddy had bruised ribs from where he got kicked. We then limped home and told our parents we were biking down a hill and crashed lol. Thats my mugging story, it fucking sucked

Probably more since it narrows at the tip, which means you're distributing more force over a smaller surface area as opposed to an eskrima stick, which generally remains constant throughout. I had an ASP and loved it, felt safer going around with it.
