here is a list of stores closing down.
http://s.wsj.net/public/resources/documents/st_borders0216_20110216.html
i went to one earlier today that had everything at 40% off or more. and some items even got an additional 10% off at the register. so, if you want to buy some stuff cheap, do it quick.

Thanks for the heads up, I'm going to my local one tomorrow.
Sucks to see any bookstores closing down though.

It makes sense that book stores would close down (internet/libraries). It is a shame that large book stores had to take out all the small ones in order to become big enough for the internet to destroy them. I have no love for the mega bookstores, but those old school tiny hole in the wall ones were great.

I wonder how this will affect the used book stores. I damn sure can't afford to buy books from retail bookstores, but if they're closed, then inventory for used book stores will inevitably suffer.
Borders is dying because they charged too goddamn much for everything.

I was at the closing one near my parents house this week and it was just super depressing. They are near the end of their closing and not a lot was left. Most of the shelves were being sold off as well. And even though they were closing their best deal still couldn't beat half price books. I don't know of a company that would want the awful location their store is in, it will probably sit empty for a long time since it is next to a mall that is also dying.

I remember when this happened with all the FYE's and Blockbusters in my area, book stores are next eh?
What's gonna happen when you can only buy stuff like cds dvds and books online, and the damn internet breaks?

Yeah, I couldn't find anything I set out to find. The place was ransacked and a total mess. I think they took all the good shit and moved it to other stores. Waste of gas for me.

It's true. I just looked up the books I bought on Amazon and they both were still cheaper on there. Fuck you, Borders. I changed my mind about missing you.
