The Pin App is just as annoying as the one in Chrome. It saves the last position. So if you change the URL, it isn't like a preloaded bookmark, it is more like a webpage that stays open session to session. Lame. At least it doesn't close like it does in Chrome.
As for tab groups... I simply open a new window with Chrome or drag tabs that belong together out into a new window.
The Panorama feature is confusing and hidden.

Hit the orange "Firefox" button (at the top left of the browser), highlight "Options," and uncheck "Tabs on Top."
I think I'll keep my tabs on top for now, since it gives me more window space, but it's good that they included the old setup.
So far I'm definitely likin' the update. |
Thank you, I just installed it and that was annoying the shit out of me. I actually checked this thread to see if anyone had said how to fix that.

Tabs-on-Top position...
Why it is a good idea:
* Tabs-on-Top makes more sense visually. The tab contains an address and therefore is the container for it. The controls only impact the tab in which they exist.
Why it is a bad idea:
* The title of a page is limited in visual size to the width of the tab.
Familiarity, plugin-space, vertical space, and mousing motions are all bullshit reasons to make tab changes.
* Plugins can simply move to the add-on bar or to the side
* Mousing distance to tabs is increase while distance to controls is decreased, it is a wash.
* Vertical space gains are nice, but we aren't talking about 100px or something... this is a small difference, real, but relatively useless.
* Familiarity with the old system is a joke. This is a fucking computer and the internet, get used to change, it happens every minute of every day in the world of computers. You'll be familiar with something new in a few days, and then it will change again. If you want to complain about this, choose Office 2003 to 2007. That was a real familiarity change.
So between the real pro's and con's, I think Tabs-on-Top does make sense. It is a shame that the Firefox implementation of tabs is as ancient as IE7's. Tabs above or below the address bar are equally obnoxious if they aren't dynamic.

I only changed it because of personal preference but go ahead and bite my head off GP
I'm also not used to the bookmarks tab being on the right so I keep losing it.

It just seems weird to me with no loading bar at the bottom and no tabs at top, I'm not used to having that much space.

I find App Tabs useful for doing research for weekly reports on my school's Blackboard.

I just noticed that my adblock plus no longer works since I upgraded. Any ideas?

Tried that. It said it couldn't do it because it couldn't modify the needed file.

You need to delete the adblock extension manually and reinstall it.
