Then the other part of me thinks, "jesus, it's like every dystopian technological society from every terrifying sci-fi book I've ever read!" All aboard for the Brave New World!

I guess it could happen, but I feel pessimistic about this given current world circumstances and financial disparity.

Holy shit that was awesome.
Life like that would be amazing.
I especially like those phones that seem to connect to anything and everything.
With all this technology there needs to be people who are exceptionally adept at using them.
This is where being an IT pays off

What you guys call awesome, I call nightmare. Not necessarily because of some 1984 paranoia, just because of the destruction of solitude. You will never, ever be able to be alone again. Not like you have much of a right to that now anyway.
Cause that's how I roll bounce.

Fuck Corning. That company was one of my worst clients at STERIS.

Once again, torn...part of me wants to say, "well that's what the off-button is for."
And then I think about the trouble I'd be in if my Droid was turned off, and CO needed me to respond to an email ASAP, and I didn't...and that wouldn't be good. They really are little electronic shackles that keep you accountable for work 24/7. Sigh.
On balance, I CAN watch the Dramatic Chipmunk almost anywhere in the world, so I guess it evens out.

that's silly to assume that we'd never have privacy. It would be no different than it is now, except we wouldn't have to look down at our phone while driving or minimize firefox to check out AIM messages.

personally,
i think this is the coolest thing i have seen in a while.
there are so many positives to this kind of technology that it outweighs the negatives tenfold.
and privacy? these people seem to lead lives similar to those of modern day people.
I live and breathe IT and technology, but i have no problem finding my own private place to relax and be by myself.

this technology is not very far off. 15-20 years at most. but probably more in the range of 10 give or take a few years. so unless your 90 or planning on dying in the next 10 years you will probably see it
i do have to say though. I want one of those TV's in their bedroom.
What the video forgot to add is a bunch of resistance fighters throwing stones at the glass.
In all seriousness, I really doubt we'll see something like this in our lifetime, and even if we do, it's gonna be exclusively for the upper class (i.e. Bill Gates rich) who can (obviously) afford it, which leads once again to the jealous folks, er, "resistance" group from above.
It's gonna suck for the passengers in those cars when the glass dashboard breaks in an accident and a giant shard of glass flies through their chest. Also, imagine that house after a fire, haha, it will be a big blob of charred glass.

Not to mention how a disgruntled employee could set back a company by the millions by keying in a bunch of penises in all the building's glass panes/monitors.
On the other hand, investing on products such as Windex would make a killing in this glassy future.
