Heigh ho all.

I've got a bit of a movie related problem i was wondering if you could help me solve.

Basically i've bought a dvd from the US (region 1) and being in region 2 i can't view it using our dvd players.

Is there anyway i change the dvd from region 1 to 2 (or even to region 0)?

I would have bought a region 2 version of the film but it doesn't exist in that format.

Basically this is a question of how do you watch films imported from another region?

I intend to watch this film with my mates at probably one of their houses so using a computer is pretty much out of the question.

Any ideas?

I think it's easier to download a DVD reader program and watch it on your computer than to actually tamper with your DVD player. I wouldn't know how to mess with regions :/

The problem with using a computer is:

That when you watch a dvd from a region your computer didn't come from on it the dvd has to change region. You can only change a few times before it gets locked. My last computer got locked in region 1, meaning i could watch like the 3 dvds i own in region 1 on it.

The thing is i still own that computer but it's a total mess like it's like stuck in pre-factory settings but i could use it but let's be realistic.

I'd rather convert the dvds format than have to haul a whole computer to my mates house.

Use DVDecrypter, rip an iso of it, then use DVDshrink to re-encode it down to 4GB and make it region free, then burn it to a DVD-R with ImgBurn. That's what I would do, anyway.
