The perk of NO explosive munition, so don't have to worry about handling it is amazing.
Also, the as SOON as it leaves the Barrel another can be loaded and launched since there is no shell to expend makes the firing rate much higher.

Rail Gun Technology is INSANE to me, and I think it's really cool that It could possibly be on ships sometime during my Career.

EDIT: Re-watched the video, I missed the part where he said before that they have 220 bolts stress tested up to 500,000lbs and if they aren't careful they can sheer them all. That's fucking crazy.

Not the one they were using in the video, it was ran through multiple tests. But they did mention that it creates an ridiculous amount of heat.
