That's just how Sonic is. It's brute memorization. You keep running until you hit something or fall into a pit. Or both. Then you try again and remember to jump at that one part.

I realize that, but the console versions always felt like they had a bit more leadway.

The DS games almost make me feel like I am running with a blindfold.

You mean the most cliche J-RPG ever created?

Don't get me wrong, I like RPGs from Japan way more than western stuff, but jesus the game is paint by the numbers. Bland enemies, utterly forgettable characters, a four elements magic system with an opposing weakness system, endless cutscene mythological god summons, end of the world plot, and stock anime art for good measure. I can't name a single thing that belongs to that game alone, and I cant name a single thing that the game does that other entries in other systems do about 10 times better.

Worst of all, its got this ridiculously dedicated fanbase that can't stop talking about how great it is.

So yeah, why was that game left of the list?

Four Heroes of Light made the list, and Dark Dawn is at least as good.

So what year do you think you'll come up with a Top 100 DS games article, Syd?

I'm not a bad enough dude, but I am an edgy little shit. I'll do what I can.
