It's awesome when her manager is following you.

Figure out if you want to be business like, like coke, mostly impersonal, like @Sexstrology, for making connections with people and use it as a chat kinda thing, or whatever.

It can make things happen.

I just made one of these twitter thingamabobs and it really isn't that hard to follow once you visit the Twitter Help Center . Took me about an hour to figure it out enough to know how to read and use it. Now I can officially bitch about how retarded it is- I can knock it since I've tried it.

I use twitter all the time. Constantly. I'm tweeting right now.
Do you know what helps?
TweetDeck. I have people separated into lists. I have a column for each list. I check the columns every now and then and can choose to update with whichever profile I want to use at that time. I've used a couple of other twitter things but they aren't as nice.
I've got it on my phone and the desktop version. So I can feed my addiction.
EDIT: The reason I MENTIONED Tweetdeck is because it easily lets you check the whole conversation with a button better than "New Twitter" can show you.

I originally used twitter as a RSS feed alternative. Webcomic artists would update when they comic first got posted and maybe a spare drawing or two. Eventually I got more and more comfortable with it and by the time I got my phone I had used it as a news source and networking. I've got a lot of artists and game devs on my twitter list and we chat back and forth. Still. I knew about the whole Osama thing hours before any news stations said anything because of twitter. And pretty much any news I know hours before a news site.

I like it better than Facebook anyway. Like Jeebus said, it's more anonymous. Lottel can talk to anyone. My REAL name I am less willing to hand out. And I've got more than one twitter for tweeting various things. My main one, a joke one, and a private one.
OH! And Twitter got me a gig writing. So I tweet through that one too.

tl;dr: Read my twitter. I'm fucking HILARIOUS

I feel like Twitter is a really great tool if you are famous, rich, or want to be either of those. Being that I don't qualify for either of those, I think Facebook is better.
