Ugh, I hate Burgertime. It's like the grossest game ever. I mean, who eats burgers without pickles or ketchup?

You should totally check out the IRC channel.
While you're at it, go check out my band, Her Majesty's Heroines.

If it's HD, then it's not coming to all major platforms.
We don't have any screenshots yet apparently, which sucks. A game like this could be interesting, or awful. I hope it has a better difficulty curve than the original game. I shouldn't have to work so fucking hard to deke out the enemies on fucking level one!

I know, it says Wiiware and shit.
It will most certainly be HD on PSN, XBL and PC. I understand Wii only supports 480p, which obviously means it won't be in true HD, but whatever.
Perhaps I should have said coming to /most/ major platforms.
Anyways, yea, the original is real tough to progress through. When you have to start dealing with those fucking pickles on level 3 or 4 it starts to get too brutal.
Still, trophies/achievements would be fun in a game like this. I couldn't see me not getting this.

Are you being sarcastic or are you being serious? I actually really enjoy achievement hunting. It makes me want to play some games more than I normally would.
Burgertime should be a third person open world sandbox with character customization and RPG elements. you could deck your chef out in all sorts of different unlockable outfits that change his rep in the food service industry. other chefs would be more likely to assist or deny him depending on what he's wearing. He could level up his cooking skills, as well as running from pickles and tomatoes faster. There should also be stealth elements, where you have to sneak around onions undetected to get to the buns. Lastly, I think the pepper shaker should be replaced by a machinegun.
Burgertime HD: Go anywhere. Cook anything. Raise hell.

Forget that. Who would eat burgers that were prepared by stomping all over them?

Burgertime was one of those few games that I found fun, but always seemed to suck at. It'd be interesting to see this new game.

You are seriously going to tell me that you've never eaten at Wendy's?

Point taken. I still can't feel good about a game this blatant about it, though.
I hope this goes the way of Bionic Commando Rearmed and gets a sequel that takes its primary mechanic way too far.

Same, I love them. Very satisfying, Nintendo really needs to get on the bandwagon, it's definitely one of my favorite innovations this generation.

i dont mind achievements much. i think its a great way to artificially inflate the replay value of a game, but they wont make or break a game for me.

What i meant was that because she was hot she got the pick of what to do, and insisted on playing Burgertime for like six years straight.
Wait, was she even hot?
No let's nix that, I don't think she was hot, my brain is making things up.

I agree. What I don't like is when gameplay features are tied to achievement unlock counts. Team Fortress 2 became a better game once they realized that achievement farmers were getting out of hand.

well, I buy a game first and foremost because I want to play it, but after I beat it, I enjoy trying for achievements. Ninety-Nine Nights is a good example. I beat the game with all of the characters and did the secret mission already. I'm done with it. With achievements for leveling everyone up to max and getting A-ranks on all of the levels, I want to go back in and try to play more to accomplish this. It's kinda like being forced to get the most out of my purchase. Dynasty Warriors: Gundam is another fantastic example of this. I beat every single character's story. It's done. Why the fuck would I still play it when I have Dynasty Warriors: Gundam 2? Because shooting down a hundred thousand Zakus is worth thirty points.

exactly. it artificially inflates the replay value in a good way.
i beat 3d dot heroes but i want to get all the other shit, even if i know the story is the same

You feel that way until you and your roommate get Gamefly, and you both play under your account. Then everybody thinks you're a loser because you have 32,000 Gamerpoints, which is totally not true (I'm a loser for many other reasons).

So here's to you Mrs. Robinson. People love you more- oh, nevermind. |

That's silly. I think having a high gamerscore is cool.
Getting games like avatar or Hanna montanna just because they're an easy 1000 us what would make you a loser.

I dunno, getting play a totally sweet Hannah Montana game AND getting an easy 1000 points out of it seems like the best of both worlds.
