Just got back from seeing this. I really enjoyed it. It was over the top, violent, and a lot of fun. I went in expecting this. William Fichtner's character was really cool and Nicolas Cage was pretty badass too. Highly recommended if you like grindhouse style movies. I saw it in 3D and it actually was pretty well done.

For those who have never seen Grindhouse can you offer another comparison?

I have not heard anything about this movie, so given your positive review I'd be happy to learn more about what genre this is and what you are trying to express.

The genre is kind of like exploitation films. These kind of films generally contain a lot of sex, and violence. Machete is a perfect example of this genre and it was made in that style as well. Planet Terror and Death Proof use this style as well.

If you see Drive Angry don't go in with high expectations. Just go in expecting to have fun with the car chases, the tons of killing and sex.

I wish I'd known this going into Death Proof, because I came out of it thinking that it was one of the biggest crocks of shit I'd ever seen. I didn't know it was supposed to be bad.

Come to think of it, even now knowing what you've said, I still think that of Death Proof. It fucking sucked.

My brother hated Death Proof. I can kind of understand why. Planet Terror was well-paced and violent. Death Proof was a lot slower, and there was too much female bonding and not enough getting killed by Stuntman Mike. But that's Tarantino, you know? You either love him or you hate him. That part where they kick Stuntman Mike to death was pretty fucking gay though.

I liked Death Proof more. It built itself up a lot better. Watching Stuntman Mike trying to act like a bad-ass killer all the time, then seeing him crying like a little bitch was pure awesome.

So here's to you Mrs. Robinson. People love you more- oh, nevermind.

Bullshit. It spent the entire first half of the movie building up one thing, and then the second half of the movie basically was like "hey, forget about that first half! It didn't mean shit!"
