nice. thanks for the heads up.
my laptop is weird, when i try to update windows by clicking on windows update, i get the timeout/gateway error, but when i click on 'go online to check for updates' it works fine.

I pushed dropbox to a new location and then synced it.
That worked.
The update won't do very much for most, it is mainly a consolidation and Remote Desktop update.

Well, I won't need to do this. I am fine with Vista. Actually, Windows 7 seems to not go well with my computer. Vista is the only OS it seems to work well with (well, as well as Vista will work)

There really isn't a huge need to download SP1, unless you haven't done any updates in awhile. This isn't one of those groundbreaking super fix Service Packs (Like XP SP1 was). This is mostly a single install collection of the most important hotfixes that have come out since the launch of Win 7.

I have it on good authority that Vista is more similar to 7 than most people think, so this doesn't make any sense.
