Weren't game & watch units supposed to be like, watch sized?
Either you have teeny tiny midget carny folk hands that smell like cabbage and corn dogs, or that fucking watch is giganotosaurus-T- rex rapper bling over sized to the max. also hardcore.

They had a little kick-stand on the back, so when you weren't playing it, you could set it up on the desk or table like a picture frame. But, setting the clock was a HUGE pain in the ass, especially if you didn't have the manual.

Thrilling. I'm sure I'd play that for a whole five minutes.

Badass, Ky-Guy.
No username, they were not watch-sized. After the G&W units, there were some actual Nintendo watches, featuring Legend of Zelda, Mario, and StarFox. There may have been others, too. I had the Mario one. It was kinda awful. Because it was watch-sized, it was a bitch to play.
Game & Watch units were bigger, and though not quite as big as a DS, later G&W units used the two screen clamshell design that would later inspire the DS. Game & Clock would have been a more accurate name, but keep in mind that the first unit was rolled in 1980, a year before the same company attempted to translate "Stubborn Monkey" into English and got "Donkey Kong".

Man, I really want to play the Donkey Kong Game & Watch.
Speaking of actual game watches, though, I got a Tetris one as a Kellogg's mail-order thing:

The StarFox one was a Kellog's mail order prize as well. Or maybe it was General Mills. We had a lot more General Mills cereals in the house back in the day.

Thanks, Syd. Here's to hoping that Club Nintendo will release more Game & Watch remakes.

The Tetris watch was awesome. But I never knew about the other ones. Zelda and Mario watches? How cool is that!

The Zelda one looked pretty cool. The Mario one kinda sucked. It was basically a Donkey Kong variant, only instead of barrels, you had to fight Goombas, then dodge Bullet Bills, then dodge Bowser's fire. You couldn't see what was going on, and the controls were a little wonky.

Damn...I had that one. It was good at the time considering I didn't have an SNES. I almost want to get it again, just for nostalgia sake.
I also had a remake G&W Fireman, which is fun for about 5 minutes like someone already mentioned.

It's weird...I made the same mistake with you two when I first joined the forum.
