Have you guys seen the new MacBook? This thing is awesome, I'm totally getting one when they hit the street.

Cook presented the bizarre, malformed new product to stunned silence during a media event at Apple headquarters, revealing a device that, while vaguely similar to a computer in certain respects, appeared to be encased in a thick, flesh-like coating that was visibly moist and engorged.

Shocked audience members claimed the appalling laptop, which seemed to many onlookers to have functioning digestive, muscular, and urinary systems, was "hard to look at" and easily the most repellent product yet manufactured by Apple.

Looks like Apple is really handling the retirement of Steve Jobs. This may be the greatest thing they've ever made.

Proof yet again that hindsight is 20/20. Next time try thinking for yourself rather than going into default defend-the-establishment mode.

Looks legit.
It's really nice that Apple was brave enough to make this move, I keep watching the movie eXistenZ and wishing I had a creepy biological computer, knowing all the while it's not meant to be.
There's hope for this world yet!

You got...An out of control Mercedes Benz!

EDIT: I can never look at yogurt ever again. Thanks a lot.

EDIT #2: Violence is rarely the answer, but maybe in this situation it's called for. I'm a borderline pacifist so believe me, that's tough to say.

EDIT #3: Why doesn't that surprise me, Dodds? /me shakes head.

EDIT #4: Reading a little more into this, I think it's an even bigger waste because you know they're underestimating the cost. If this goes through I'll have to remember to check out the true cost a few years from now.

EDIT #5: Be careful. Your political bias is showing and it's pretty much destroying what little credibility you may have already had.

EDIT #6: With the recent zombie craze I think those would actually be huge sellers. I know of at least three people who would buy this in a second. Though that has more to do with the fact that they'd buy anything Apple puts out, and not really because it looks like that.

EDIT #7: We get it. You think it's a dumb idea. You're basically just saying the same thing over and over again without adding a damn thing.

EDIT #8: Money usually isn't a motivating factor for these guys though, so I don't know if they're going to get the best talent.

Finally, someone posted after me. I almost double posted like 8 times.

EDIT: Eh, I don't know. I was a bigger fan before it was so popular. Now you can't swing a dead cat by the tail without hitting someone who's wearing a t-shirt about it.

Semen in yogurt linked to NM grocery store worker

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Police have matched DNA taken from a 31-year-old man to semen found in a yogurt sample that was offered at an Albuquerque grocery store.

Albuquerque Police Department spokeswoman Trish Hoffman said Thursday an investigation is continuing but the man faces a potential charge for battery.

Hoffman says Food and Drug Administration authorities are also looking into the case and might pursue a federal felony charge for food tampering.

Police responded to the Sunflower Market in northwest Albuquerque on Jan. 26 after a woman called 911 and reported a store employee had given her what she was told was a yogurt sample. The woman told police she believed it was actually a bodily fluid.

Hoffman says the man was arrested on an unrelated warrant.

My favorite part is knowing that you can jerk off in somebody's food and get away with just a battery charge. If they catch you.

My favorite part is that she immediately identified it as semen and complained.

I feel like I'm in a room full of people screaming at me about different things and I have no idea what they are talking about.

Also, nobody has an opinion on fanny packs? Yay or nay?

Fine, but in my defense it was neither from my RSS (don't have one) nor from yahoo.

What I wonder about is if he got away with it a couple of times before finally getting caught. Sounds like he was just whacking off into paper cups and handing them out. If he ate enough pineapple he may be able to pass it off as actual yogurt.

They definitely have a utilitarian purpose, but I don't think they'll ever fully come back in style like their height in the 80s. A man purse (murse) would also be helpful but you don't see guys carrying those around very often.

I agree, Bum. Ethanol is absolutely the wrong way to go at a massive level. Energy companies like to dangle these alternative fuels out there all the time, saying shit like "in 10 years we'll have this and that"...meanwhile we use more oil than ever. Ethanol will fizzle out and then we'll be sold the promise of cars that run on apples or some shit, but "we just need a few years to perfect it!" I doubt the U.S. comes off of oil in my lifetime, though I've heard it may run out in the next 50 years. Who knows if that's the truth.

Well played, Huff.

I'm suprised you feel so strongly about that. They're just trying to get some free security testing done.

What pop up? I'm not seeing anything.

Heh, well I think I'd be able to identify it pretty quickly. At least I hope so. Just add this to the list of reasons why I never eat free samples in grocery stores.

Fun fact: If you say "fanny pack" in England, you will be laughed at and ridiculed. This is because over here, "fanny" means pussy.

What a retard, this governor. I bet if you looked at Wisconsin's CAFR you would find plenty of money for the budget. States have tons of assets, that's why they only ever talk about budgets, deficits and surplus, not balances.

I hope the gov't union guys walk. It's a bullshit publicity stunt that won't fix anything, so let the governor change his own fucking lightbulbs and oil.

I consider this thread a success. Anything that confuses everyone and therefore stifles conversation is a major plus. Having a couple of people saying they're just ignoring it completely and/or not going to post any more stories is an added bonus, especially on a site where the owner frequently mentions the amount of traffic he gets/wants. Whoever said active forums are a good things was a fucking retard.

I know some PMs to people who were "spamming up" the forums would have been a more grownup solution, but what fun would that have been? This has been far more entertaining. Thank you to all responsible parties!

Yeah like I said in IRC, I was avoiding this thread. I only joined in to help show how ridiculous it is. I like that we can't tell who is talking about what when they reply because there are 30 different things they could be talking about. I can see not wanting to see 100 news articles posted a day, but having one thread where no one has a clue what the person above them is posting about is just as bad in my opinion.

Dude I totally agree, it's a sad fact of the rules that punching and kicking are almost always better choices on mechs with melee weapons than actually using their built-in melee weapon. For this reason I have a house rule that penalizes the chances to hit with those attacks so that regular hatchet/sword attacks look better by comparison.

One nice thing about the Total warfare ruleset is that you can take a +4 penalty to hit in order to target your attack to use either the "legs" or "punch" hit location chart. Even using standard rules, this allows swords to target specific locations at +2 to hit (based on pilot skill), but hatchets end up with a +3 to hit, which is a little harder to overcome, in my experience.

So yeah. The best melee mechs are just ones with two fists to punch with, Triple Strength Myomer, and 55 tons+ (to get 12 point punches). Razz
