Any thoughts on this game? I was kinda holding out for this one to be the savior of PC gaming, but now it looks like the grim truth is setting in.

3dRealms just hired a bunch of new programmers and is making the game multiplatform. The CEO of 3dRealms just announced that we won't have to worry about having a good computer to run it (always a great warning sign of suckitude), and it's now going to be simultaneously developed for the 360 and the PS3.

Multiplatform is killing PC gaming. Whenever a dev team has to make a game simultaneously playable on console and PC, it suffers most on PC.

Wait, they really just hired new people to work on this? They're ACTUALLY working on it? My guess is that, since it's been in development since the dawn of time, they aren't going to bother to update it for new hardware at this point and stick with what they were working with, which will make it easy to run on consoles as well. Afterall, if they try to update the game every time hardware improved, it'd NEVER get released Rolling Eyes

3DR has officially announced that it is indeed a shot of the new Duke game, on Unreal technology. I dunno if that means Unreal 3 engine or what, but that is a real screenshot.

The part that's fishy as fuck is that they've not only officially stated that there will be NO akimbo weapons (dual wield for all you idiots), and that the game will take place from inside your head in first person at all times, no cutscenes or anything. So that must be Duke looking in a mirror...

Or it's just a crock of shit. Either way, George "Fat Idiot" Broussard has stated that it's officially a real screenshot.

Daikatana was announced like 10 days before DNF was, and it came out already (and was a total piece of shit).
