I got a Twitter because it was the only way I could update my Facebook status without a computer. Now that I have a smartphone, I wonder why I still keep it around.

Twitter is very simple to use, and it's actually a pretty good resource for discussion. Seriously, what the fuck don't you people understand about it? Of all the social networking sites to ever be popular, Twitter is absolutely the best for having conversations, particularly group conversations.

Maybe if it had a Web2.0 interface on the PC where it threaded conversations that left your personal page as a conversation and were brought in by Ajax. In its current web version, it seems very ego driven, which would make sense why famous people would love it.
* And then I did this...
* Then I went there.
* I did that thing a few minutes ago.
* I am about to go..
So, I am starting to get it, I guess I just don't understand how it would in any way shape or form benefit me to participate.
I guess the people who make Twitter actually agree with me though because they are redesigning it. http://twitter.com/newtwitter Don't watch the video, it is as dumb as the current version of Twitter.

It's like facebook status updater that the whole world can view, retweet etc.
I mainly use it to promote my podcast and it helps a bit, so like small projects like that help get the word out.

It is like Facebook with everything other than status updates ripped out. When you think about it, there are a lot of people who would want just that.

This is how celebrities use it, and it's boring. I use it for conversations more than anything, and unless you have a really short attention span, you'll know what they're talking about. If not, click and see what they replied to. Also, there are other twitter apps that presumably show you an entire threaded conversation if you need it.

Couldn't you have a more efficient and easier conversation on instant messaging programs or IRC?

Sure, but don't you want to know that every future family member, friend, colleague and boss will be able to read what you think is important right now?

Can't you guys just choose to ignore it other than being upset that you don't understand it? I don't use Twitter either but I understand why people enjoy it's functions and uses.

It's hard to ignore something being talked about on every mass medium. Besides, it's great fun fearing something we don't understand.

Excel is right. Every 10 seconds I have to hear about this thing so it's hard to ignore.
Also, I enjoy being upset.

I'll never use it. I don't see the point, and frankly, I just don't like people that much.

Honestly from what I've seen ash, neck beards like that don't really do twitter. They think it's dumb like the people in the thread. The people at your dinner table are more likely to use it in my experience.

In my experience, neck beards are usually smug asshole intellectual wannabes that think they're cool for hating popular things and refering to people as sheeple.

If you're only talking with a single person and don't want input from anyone else who happens to be online at the time, including people you've never met ebfore, than yeah, IM is better.

Nice editing, douchebag. That sentence started "Of all the social networking websites to ever be popular". Your dinner table is not a social networking website. And it's also true that neckbeards don't use Twitter, so you're both a dick for trying to misquote me to make a joke, and retarded for making a joke that makes no sense.

FNJ, it's not so much that it makes more sense, but that it changes the context of what Jeebus meant.
