I think the original metroid's 'Kraids lair' music is the best. Very atmospheric

Although I can't embed YouTube videos here at the moment, I really like the weird music that plays when you save/load a picture in Mario Paint for the SNES.

I remember shitting bricks when I first heard it, on Fatal Fury Special for the SNES. It's insanely pompous, but so is Krauser and it really shows how much he thinks of himself

I'm bumping this particular thread 'cause even though there's been other video game music stuff, I feel this one has had some excellent choices, and I'd like to see 'em continue coming.
I have finally gotten around to uploading the soundtrack from Bloody Wolf, a Turbografx-16 game from the early '90s. The rest of the tracks are on my YouTube channel, but to be blunt, it's rather hit-and-miss, so here's your recommended listening dosage. Enjoy!

When I was a kid, I would always get up and start dancing (read: flailing about) when I visited Funky.

GenesisDoes, I believe you'll need to check the "Old Embed Code" box to embed a video here.
Let's break out some Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike.
Preng's Q's Theme
Alex & Ken's Theme - Jazzy NYC '99
Yang's track from 2nd Impact is also quite good.

Mega Man X did have some seriously immersive tracks. Sigma's final form track is one of my favorites, since it gives me a nostalgia trip back to the times when I simply couldn't kill the dude. It's subtle, but I think it's rather climactic.
Mega Man X - Sigma 2nd Form
My personal tastes go with the more rock-based X3 soundtrack. It can be a bit repetitive at times, but I think each track fits its respective location nicely.
Mega Man X3 - Gravity Beetle Stage
Mega Man X3 - Doppler Stage
The first battle with Sigma in Mega Man X3 ended up with me getting wrecked over and over again when I was a kid. The music is a tiny loop, but it put me into sheer panic.
