Ive already asked some people this question in the IRC but i thought i might ask it here as well. Im trying to get into RPG's but havent really ever played them and dont know where to start, any suggestions? Perferably on the Super Nintendo, DS, and Psx.

For PSX you have Final Fantasy I, II, IV, V, VI, VII, VIII, IX. Chrono Trigger, Chrono Cross, Suikoden I & II, and many many others.

Some older RPG's aren't very user friendly, and since you are a relatively young man with little RPG experience I can definitely recommend the following:
Lunar Silver Star Story Complete - PSX - Fantastic RPG for a beginner. Not too hard, not too easy, this gem is JUST right. It's sequel is bitchin' too. These games were originally on the Sega CD and the only real difference is some better anime intro's, cut-scenes, sightly better polished battle graphics, etc.
Wild Arms - PSX - Western themed RPG with guns. That is all. Wait, no thats not all, it's a fantastic game, play it.
I figured the Final Fantasy series was a no brainer since we already mentioned those in the IRC. Anyways, have fun! Keep us up to date with what you try, what you like, dislike.

just start with Final Fantasy 7. its the a good choice for getting into RPG's.

my first full on RPG was dragon warrior (quest) but as josh woodzy said, thats not very user friendly to non rpg players. a lot of grinding, and if you are not a fan of grinding, those old school RPG's are not for you.
you can try star wars knights of the old republic, thats fun. its pretty cheap on steam.

RPGs are one of the most prevalent genre I've played. As far as SNES games go, pretty much anything out of Square Enix's catalog will do.
FF 7 is a downgrade from FF 6 in my opinion. (And quit using the SNES era title names, since the actual Final Fantasy 3 came out on the DS, that sort of numbering has died off). And DS has the best versions of both FF 4 and Chrono Trigger. Dragon Quests 4 and 5 are already out, with 6 coming out on V-Day. I have to say that the DQ games are a great starting point if you're getting into RPGs.

If your looking for giggling little underage girls and bad voice-overs play any modern JRPG. If you want some classic RPG action without the strange Japanese culture and humor put upon you, try:

Suikoden for the Playstation is a good starter RPG, it was one of the first one's I played. It doesn't give the played a failure to tell you where to go like some RPG's
For DS, I've been playing Glory of Heracles, it's been pretty fun.

Untrue, I have little to no desire to EVER play it again.
Play Lufia or Lufia II on SNES. Both of those games kick all sorts of ass. Especially Lufia II.
And for PSX you might enjoy Beyond the Beyond, that one is a little hard.

Alright thanks guys, i have actually been playing Chrono Trigger but thats the only one so far, so far im actually enjoying it, im not that far in around the part when you fight mutants in the future and all these "labs" are destroyed. Im probably gonna try to play Final Fantasy 2 and 3 on snes at some point but dont exactly know yet. Overall thanks for the input

This, good sir, is untrue. Simply adding in several new dungeons with unavoidable encounters to add padding is not making it better, nor is weakening half of the bosses to the point where they are pathetic. And please, don't start on that shallow monster arena. Play the SNES version Mr. Guy if your not already, as the DS version is better than the PSX one (if only for the lack of horrific load times), it pales in comparison to the SNES version for the simple fact that it is not as challenging*.
*I have played through both recently, and I still say that the SNES version has the more satisfying boss fights, because the DS ones are so much weaker. The best places to see this are against the Fiendlord (not using any names to avoid spoilers), the end boss especially (WTF is wrong with his defenses) and even the dragon tank.

Blazing, I never even bothered with the monster arena stuff, it's simply my OPINION that between the SNES, PSX, and DS versions, that I liked the DS version the most, especially since it included the extra ending of the PSX version.

The DS version of Chrono Trigger is nice because it at least attempts to be faithful to the source material, rebalances aside.
The DS version of FF4 is crap. Sadly enough, it looks like the PSP version will be the definitive version. Unless they port that version to the 3DS.

Regarding FF4, I'll stick to the PSX version because it was the first western release of the game to be honest about the numbering and the FMVs don't add to or subtract from the experience. Plus, the translation's leagues better than on the SNES.

If you don't mind the Mushroom Kingdom setting, Super Mario RPG (SNES) and Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story (DS) are both really good.
