I didn't really think it out well when I made it. Normally you would need two balanced images crossing the same space threshold. I just grabbed my avatar and some text. But I already gave my excuse, so it is what it is.

Making one of these things isn't that hard, but you really do need to know how to use image editing software.
- Using a layer based image editing software (Photoshop/GIMP) create a new file
- Define a size for the decodable image. I chose 100px X 100px
- Create a layer that has alternating columns of black and clear across the entire layer
- Save the image as a PNG24 (No compression loss during save and with alpha transparancy is necessary)
- Create a new layer with the first image you want to use
- Make the layer grayscale
- Create a new layer with the second image you want to use
- Make the layer grayscale
- Hide all layers except for the black columns layer. Make a selection out of it
- Show the first image layer and make sure it is the active layer.
- Clear the contents of the selection
- Hide the first image and show the second image. Make sure it is the active layer.
- Invert the selection
- Clear the contents of the selection
- Save the file as a PNG24
I chose to upload the files to imgur and then displayed them both on a similar background using a html table. I did this so that if they were quoted, they would always be on a gray background, though it doesn't really matter.

Do these need to be resized? Because I can't unmask them.

The images I posted are all 200px thumbnails. Only the first from the left is encoded. The two right ones are both already decoded, you don't need to use the bars on them. You can just read what they have to say.
