In terms of look, imho Jerry O’Flaherty got this one exactly right. If there is a just and loving God in the universe, this movie will happen. Please oh please oh please let this happen...
Please?

Hah, only sort of kidding.
As much as I love the Thundercats franchise, I just don't know...especially after seeing what they did to G.I. Joe. (Emoticon powers, activate!).
Is that a gag article? The only stuff I've heard about TC being resurrected involved them being musicians in a band who also happened to fight crime in their city.

Liar. You stole that idea from The Adventures of T-Rex:

I'm not that excited about this. The show was alright, but as I found out recently it is almost completely unwatchable as an adult. I'm just glad it's gonna be CGI and not live action because that would just be silly and embarrassing.

I agree, I think given the 'Cats look, CGI is probably the way to go. (Although, given what they can do with makeup and costume now, they could probably pull off live action if they wanted to.
Do you really find it unwatchable though? I've watched the series multiple times through as an adult, and for me it keeps getting better. Sure its a little corny and the writing isn't the best, but the same could be said for he original Star Trek, and that's still all kinds of awesome. I actually enjoy the way they work in 'life lessons' as Lion-O grows up and learns about what it means to be the Lord of the Thundercats. More than a little bit of what I learned about being a good and honest person was formed from obsessive viewing of that show while I was a kid.
...Or maybe I'm just a huge dork. Oh well.

Holy shit, Panthro is Jet Black!
Pic is from the London Toy Fair.

The character designs seem to be very anime-inspired, making them radically different to the originals. However, it didn’t give me the negative feeling I had when I first saw footage from the 2002 He-Man series.
The TV screen had a promotional trailer with interviews from the cast (Mr. Kenney was not included) so I also saw the design of the Kittens, Snarf, Slithe and Mumm-Ra. Snarf and mummy Mumm-Ra were almost identical to the originals, Slithe and transformed Mumm-Ra were in between, while the Kittens were completely redesigned (and looked tiny on Panthro’s shoulders).
Looks like this is going to be a TV series instead of a movie, all the better considering the new designs (I'd still hit it with Cheetara). And for the record, I LIKED the 2002 He-Man series.

I loved Thundercats as a kid (I think the fact that the Spanish dub had superior voice acting over the English one helped a lot on that), so I'm defintively looking forward for this remake.

Well played, good sir.
Also, can't unsee the fact that I'm looking at Jet Black now, and under closer inspection, they do seem more feline in this version (actual fur for one).
