There's five threads on "Heroes" and half of one on "Lost"... mainly because only two members actually watch it. Nonetheless, here's a thread for it.

Oh... and this:
EDIT: Video no longer available.

I got hooked on Lost from some co-workers. I must say, watching Jack flip out is one of the many highlights to the show. He used to be such a calm person but has lost (heh) his effing mind. I love it. Any thoughts on what might be revealed this Wed? I've got a feeling that Locke and Siyad are going to start working closer together. You know, tear it up old school and all that shizzle. Razz

Everyone loves the Jack face. It's the highlight of the drinking game.

So, how many thought last nights episode was awesome? Seriously, Desmond effing rules. Anything catch you guys off guard? I was suprised about how Desmond handled his "flashback", granted the way the writing was on this episode they could have multiple episodes with Desmond freaking out about knowing the future. Also, while I liked the whole "flashback" it still didn't explain why he can see the future on the island. Next week, Action Jackson and his silly tattoos. I can't wait.

My Lost gurus all loved the episode. I watched while... not in the perfect shape, so my memory of it was mostly a: Is this really happening!?

It was the weirdest episode I've seen yet and according to Entertainment Weekly, Damon Lindelof (executive producer) expects the nonfans to drop out after that one. ie: This is where the show is going to go now, if you can't handle it - There's the door; see you on the last episode.

If anyone could have led that episode and have me accept it no matter what it was Desmond... or Hurley... or Locke.

Yeah, Locke episodes are great.

I'm worried though... he was acting kinda shady last week. I hope he doesn't get himself killed. I'm rooting for Charlie too. I know he's Marked For Death, but so was Steven Seagal. Still, the producers have been promising more deaths... Sad

On my Lost group, I predicted Locke would die for Charlie. However, there hasn't been much Locke and Charlie stuff this season save for "Further Instructions", so I'm changing my mind on the theory. Nonetheless, characters seem to die on the show once their character reaches some resolution and Locke seems to be getting a big one tomorrow. Though the last couple of times it was in the same episode, though Boone took a few episodes after "Hearts and Minds" to see the pearly gates. I'm hoping Locke's death would be the later.

I'm positive that Locke will die by the end of the series, but I strongly feel he won't die too early before the final episode. So, no. I don't think Locke will die anytime soon.

I hope they don't kill off too many characters before the end of the series... There's a core set of characters - Locke, Hurley, Sawyer, Desmond, Kate, Claire, Charlie, and Jack - that people really like. If they kill off to many of them, the show becomes uninteresting. Look at ER, it's still on the air, but no one gives a fuck anymore.

Besides, every character who survives the island could have a potential spin-off. Here are some spin-off ideas:

"Lost: Return to the Island" - The survivors are eventually rescued, but once they leave the island, they realize just how much it meant to them. Using Hurley's lottery winnings, the gang finance the creation of a vacation resort on the island. Hilarity ensues. This would work better as a TV movie than as an actual series.

"Even Tru-er Calling" - Desmond uses his magical powers to help people stave off death. If she's not busy, maybe Eliza Dushku can co-star.

"They Let Mexicans Into Heaven!?" - Ana-Lucia deals with the trials and tribulations of being a minority in the afterlife. Over the course of the show, we will learn whether or not there is racism in Heaven and whether or not Michelle Rodriguez has any actual acting skills besides the ability to scowl and look pissed.

"Is There A Doctor In The House?" - After accidentally burning down his house, Dr. Jack Shephard is forced to move in with his half-sister Claire, her husband Charlie, and Claire's son Aaron.

"Think I'm Gonna Hurley" - On a roadtrip to the Grand Canyon, Hurley and his father accidentally end up on the wrong side of the border - and the wrong side of law.

"After LOST" - I've never seen After MASH, but it would be just like that, only with Lost.

The show was envisioned with those key characters. The mythology of the show was generated while filming the pilot and shortly thereafter. That's when I think the longer story arcs began for our key cast and why most of the tailies died. The tailies were unplanned in the overall mythology of the show so their deaths had no real impact on the story. The main characters are slightly different. Jack, Kate, Sawyer, and Locke all play an important function on the show that is evident in the first six episodes. Charlie and Claire were two other characters that were developed early (though I bet Claire being Jack's half sister was unplanned). Desmond was also a late addition. The actor said he was originally hired for only three episodes and there was no talk of ever bringing him back, until after half the season aired. But, I hear that Desmond's storyline involving Penny was involved for another survivor, but the show switched it to him. If this is true, Desmond could play a larger part in the series and means he'll live past season three.

Boone I swear was developed to die and it shows when you rewatch the first season. Shannon I think was killed off because the show had no idea what to do with her. But whoever dies next it will be because they are not part of the overall story. They won't kill a major character just to be shocking. It will happen because it needs to happen... or they run out of stories for them.

Hurley has Chloe immunity. If either of them dies it will toward the end of the series - Like the Lone Gunmen.

BTW, all those spin-off ideas were hilarious! Though I want to buy that
"They Let Mexicans Into Heaven!?" idea off you. I read the title and instantly thought it would make a stellar play, especially in Chicago... then again it could be because every other play here seems to involve Hispanic racism. Rolling Eyes

If you seriously think you can base a play around that title, go for it.

Has no one considered the obvious spin-off, "Found"? Where they all get home and each week we watch their individual lives as they go grocery shopping, go to work, pay bills, do some cleaning around the house, and fall asleep on the couch watching TV?

There was an episode called "... and Found" which already made the play on the "Lost" title (see "... In Translation" for similar effect).

But that idea sounds too much like the failed ABC show "The Nine" to ever happen.

There's actually a game of that already. It's called The Sims

The ending to last week's episode was fucked up. I wonder what will become of Kate, Jack, and Sayid, if they'll be allowed to return to the main group or what.

Don't expect to see Locke again for a couple of weeks. Sad

It's very doubtful that Jack, Kate, and Sayid will be freed. See TV Guide for Kate's fate in two weeks.

Remember when Ethan strung up Charlie and left him to die? Expect that same behavior from the Others by the end of the season. Oh, and we'll FINALLY see what the cord in the ocean is connected to.

I liked how in the opening scene, the girl said that guest stars always die. That was good use of foreshadowing.

This was going to get posted in the MS Paint thread, but after two minutes, I thought it was too inside for it.

Someone on a MySpace Lost group used to make MS Paint pics for the show:
