Congratulations to the winner, Klimbatize, whose consistently above-average performance secured him a top finish. Following in a close second is lavalarva, who fought hard into the end, but had a few bad early rounds. Placing third is PJX, who would done much better if he hadn't missed a couple rounds.
A complete detailing of the scores can be found in the Sydapedia page.
And now, the obligatory thanks. Thank you Syd and Douche for allowing me and Fernin to run this thing, and also for starting these competitions in the first place. Thank you Vald for stickying and merging. Thank you Fernin for your great challenge ideas and helping with pretty much everything. And lastly, thanks to all the participants, hell, even the spectators and anyone who enjoyed these championships in some regard.
A lot of work went into this thing, but it's always worth it. I'm looking forward to the next SNES challenge in around 6 months. I expect more participation then!
Now feel free to post your thoughts, praise, criticisms, etc.

My points in the Contra and Ms. Pacman challenges show pretty well how much I suck at those games. Meanwhile, Klim is good at everything
But, I still beat Not Sure 3 times. He completely crushed me the other 7, but I beat him 3 times

Grats Klimb! Who knew the guy from Yo Gabba Gabba was so good at the vidya.
Thanks you Fern and NS. Sure, I might've hated you guys during some of these challenges, but thanks to you guys, I played some games I've never played, and enjoyed some others in a new way. I usually got mad and quit, otherwise I might've done a little better, but I had fun nonetheless.
I uploaded all my submissions.

When's the Genesis competition? I'm down for that.
Oh, and I have a challenge for the SNES tournament: get through three levels of Ren and Stimpy: Veediots! without dying, recorded from boot-up to level's end. Good fucking luck.
Hell, even just one level.

Disappointed I did not see this through, but I had massive cpu problems halfway through.
Congrats to Klimb, I am pretty impressed.
Also thanks to Fernin and Not Sure for being such excellent hosts.

From what I understand, Genesis emulators aren't reliable when it comes to recording.

Great runs everyone, and congratulations to Klim! It was a fun contest. Sorry I crapped out at the end..my grandmother went even farther down hill after Christmas and died last Friday, so I haven't had much time for anything else. In the meantime, I'll be practicing for the next challenge.

Congrats to Klim on the victory, and lavalarva for giving him a good run near the end there. Thanks to everyone who submitted an entry, and to those who wanted to, but couldn't, for whatever reason. To those of you who signed up with no intention whatsoever of playing, shame on you! Join the SNES championship in a few months and redeem your honor!
As always, kudos to my robotic partner for his challenge ideas, for sharing the judging workload, and for being so damned awesome at 2D gaming in general.
As for the Genesis competition, it's the dream of many at this point, but it's just not feasible until someone finds or creates an emulator that has an easy to use, built in recorder that produces files that can be emailed.

Well done Klimbatize, you played it like a winner.
Thank you NS & Fernin for some rather good challenges.
How about a Gameboy/color or Advance challenge? the VBA emu produces files which can be emailed. The sound does go out of sync after about 30 seconds, but it's an easy fix if you run the file once converted to avi (same way as with snes9x) through VitualDub, which only takes a few seconds.
Here's a vid showing how: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yu2FA87ati4

Or simply use VBA Recorder so the audio doesn't desync in the first place

Ready for an obnoxious, rambling post? Well, you're getting one anyway.
Thank you everyone for the congratulations and kind words. I had a ton of fun with this Challenge.
First, I would like to thank my parents for sitting me down in front of an Atari for hours on end when I was three years old. The hand-eye coordination I developed during my formative years has finally paid off. Suck it, social workers.
I would like to thank Not Sure and Fernin for running this competition. I know it took many hours and days of planning this event, not only picking the games but also setting up save states and coming up with a diverse range of challenges. I appreciate all the hard work. And speaking of the games, you guys did a fantastic job picking mixing up the games to keep the Challenge from getting stale. I really had a blast.
I'd like to congratulate all the competitors, but I'd specifically like to give shout outs to all the guys who made an effort every week to send in a run--lavalarva, Ghandi, Pandajuice, Mellowmeek, and I'll include Capt. Fantastic in there since he got boned in the last week. PJX, you were also tough. You guys helped make the Challenge really fun and kept my competitive juices flowing and made the Challenge even more fun. Particularly you, lava. You had some absolutely dominating runs. Well done. Given another set of ten games, you definitely could have taken first.
A special thanks to Cameron, for his tips for River City Ransom. I had never played the game so those were much appreciated.
A shout out to my IRC brothers and sisters. A win for Klimbatize is the same thing as a win for the IRC. This virtual trophy is as much yours as it is mine.
Whoa, sorry...I'm getting emotional. Must keep it together. Because I have one last thing I want to say. I hadn't planned on it going down this way, but I'm so overcome with happy feelings that it's just bursting out of me...
Fig, will you marry me?

Congratulations, Klimbatize! A WINNER IS YOU!
Thank you Not Sure and Fernin for running the show, you guys came up with some great challenges.
As for myself, I did terrible. I got wrapped up in work and playing cards with friends and often forgot until the last moment to send my runs in. That meant no practice and thus crap. And I completely forgot the last four challenges. I will be back next year, though. With a better controller, hopefully.
