It was originally an experiment crated by two designers in Japan for a commercial, however its now become the latest clothing obsession.
"The LED smiles can easily be affixed to your teeth and glow different colors while you smile. The colors can be changed wirelessly through a computer interface.
Mr. Ishibashi and Daito Manabe, the other designer and technologist on the project, are offering workshops in Japan showing people how to build their own LED smiles.
No more so than those things all the rappers made famous. I actually like these better than jamming a shitload of metal and diamonds in your mouth.

Yeah I'm not saying that if I saw someone with either thing that I would enjoy it but at least these can't be as ridiculously expensive as "Grills" or whatever the fuck those things are called. They do have some use though. They would add to a robot costume at Halloween to great effect if you could set them to blink on only while you talked.
