So I remember playing this game at my friend's house when I was little. It was either an unlicensed Mario game or a Mario wanna-be. The one thing I remember about it was that there were fish that would jump up bite away at pieces of bridges as you were crossing them, and bite you if the bridge was already gone.

The only other games I remember playing on the system were Ernie's Big Splash and some Dr. Seuss Sliding Puzzle Game. I'm pretty sure it was a computer system, but I don't know if it was a PC or a C64 or what. Definitely was not Apple.

Giana Sisters kinda has fish like I'm describing, but I don't think it was that.

If it was Ernie's Big Splash, I'm reasonably certain it was a Commodore. I base this upon the fact that our C64 when I was little had two games, Ernie's Big Splash and Dig Dug.

Now, that probably doesn't help you figure out what game it is at all, but dammit I tried.

There was a full hack of Giana Sisters called "Super Mario Bros." that changed alot of the sprites to make the game more Mario like. Maybe it was that?

If the hack came out around 1987, then this is a very strong possibility.

Just looked into Abyss, the group that did the Mario/Giana hack. They were only around from 1987-1988, so this is definitely what I played.

The best info I can find was that this hack, known originally as "Super Mario Bros. +3" (The +3 denotes that it had a trainer which gave you 3 cheats: Unlimited Time, Unlimited Lives, and What Level you wanted to start on.) was made by a C=64 Scene Group known as ABYSS, who were only on the scene from 1987 - 1988, and SMB+3 was believed to be their first project, although there is no indicator of year or date made in any of the files or the program itself.

So, I would say, that this is a very strong possibility, Syd.
