Strange naked drunk woman wakes man

Forget asking for a cup of sugar -- this is one way to meet your neighbours and ensure they'll remember you.
A single man in Victoria, B.C., woke up early Saturday morning when he heard someone open the door to his apartment, police said.
"A few minutes later a woman came into his bedroom, promptly disrobed, slid into the bed next to him and fell asleep," Victoria police said on the force's operations blog. "The difficulty here was that the man lives on his own last time he checked."
The man called police at 3:20 a.m. Saturday.
When police arrived, the woman was still asleep. They discovered the woman had the right building and apartment number, but she was on the wrong floor. One officer found her purse, jacket and shoes on the floor in front of her correct apartment door. No one answered when police knocked.
The woman, who police said was "quite intoxicated," was taken into custody until she sobered up.

I'm very curious as to why she was taken into custody. Supposedly her apartment was -right- there. Why not bring her home?

Wow, what kind of douchebag calls the police when a naked woman slides into his bed? I can understand not trying anything with her because that'd technically be rape, but wow man, you couldn't resolve that situation yourself without the law getting involved?

I am in a wedding this coming November and the Groom lived in a 2 bedroom apartment with a roommate when he started to date the bride. One night the bride got so shitfaced that she got up to puke in the middle of the night and then somehow walked into the roommate's room and got into bed.
The roommate didn't wake up and only realized what happened when he found the groom's naked girlfriend in his bed.
He politely gave her a blanket and told her to make her way back to the groom.
There was never any secrecy about the story, so everyone who knows these people has heard it. They laugh about it all the time.

Seems pretty assholeish to call the cops.
I could understand if she came in and started smashing shit up or something.
Maybe he was worried she'd wake up in the morning and assume he drugged her/raped her so he wanted the Police involvement. You never know. He could have tried to wake her up and get her moving, but she was drunk enough to get in bed with someone she didn't know without knowing it, she might have hit the pillow and just been OUT.

I am 99% certain he called the cops to protect his own ass. Some guy has a passed out, naked, drunk woman in his house. She wakes up in the morning, assumes the worse, and calls the cops for rape.

I'd wake her up immediately and politely say, "Um, I think you have the wrong apartment." If she stays passed out or causes a scene or is crazy, then I call the police. I understand that she might scream "Rape!", but as a citizen, I prefer to try to solve my own problems first before creating more busy work for the police department.
