Is it any good? I really liked the 1st one, should I get the 2nd?
Does it have new stuff, or is it more of the same?

Once you really play it, you won't want to go back to the first one. I love the shit out of it.

It is pretty similar without the annoying photo taking. The few times I tried to do any of the psycho cases I got my ass kicked just like in the first one. Really though who gives a damn about doing cases and saving people, this is zombie killing time! If anything I'm going to cripple your ass while I run away from the zombies, not save you.

Killing psychos and rescuing survivors is actually a lot of fun. It's also how you get new combo cards, level up, and get some zombrex sometimes.

hm. I actually liked the photo taking part of the first game. How is the ai? Do you still have to do that "Come on. Over here. Come on. Over here. Come on..." thing
It seems like it is on par with the difficulty of the 1st? that's good. Games are too easy nowadays

Well the only psycho I ever pulled off killing was the dude on the bike. The little butcher guy cheated and healed himself all the time. I never needed zombrex because if you get bitten by a zombie you are dead to me. I let the stupid girl die, because all she did was hang out playing PSP or whatever while I risked my life to save her. Screw her. I rescued the stupid survivor right outside the safehouse so she would shut the hell up while I was bashing zombie face with my sledgehammer, but that was it. I let her stupid husband get eaten after I smacked him in the face with an axe about 15 times.

The AI is a bit better. Give a survivor a weapon and they can handle themselves, just don't take them into a boss battle with you. It's about as tough as the first one, but you have different tools to work with this time around.

lolwut? You don't use zombrex on yourself!
If you just wander around killing zombies the whole time, you are missing the real meat and potatoes of the game. It must have sucked spending sixty dollars on something that shallow. If you want any sort of story progression you have to do the missions and get katey's zombrex.
I've killed every boss in the game, BTW. you just gotta know what you're doing, or load up on untouchable and knife gloves.

I'm well aware you don't use zombrex on yourself. What little I played of the story was super predictable, just like the first one. I had more fun wandering around killing zombies than I did wasting 30 minutes fighting one psycho. Stupid bike bastard used 4 of those dynamite bow and arrow things to kill, while I just stood on top of a ledge waiting for him to get close. I just got frustrated fighting the psychos and stopped trying. I prefer fun over frustration.

So do I, but I didn't find the psycho fights to be frustrating. You can't just rush in and attack them, you have to learn their patterns.
To each their own, I guess.

Nothing that frustrating IMO. the fight with the motorcross guy is kind of a pain in the ass, but he doesn't fucking respawn every time you leave the area, and he doesn't have a gun. There's also only one of him, as opposed to three.

DR2 is a better game, but I still like Frank better than Chuck as a character. Giving Chuck a reason to fight the zombies doesn't make him cooler. If anything, it makes him less cool. He's there because he has to be, not because he's a crazy ass motherfucker. And also, Frank has covered wars.
I like them both alot. Chuck has epically cheesy one liners, came up with the idea to duct tape knives to boxing gloves to act like wolverine, and is just overall another whole level of amusing.
Case West worked beautifully, as Frank and Chuck's personalities went hand in hand. It was like one of those buddy cop movies where they keep getting themselves into sticky situations because of their arguing.
Once you really play it, you won't want to go back to the first one. I love the shit out of it.
This. The second game is vastly improved over the first game in pretty much every way. The AI is a lot smarter (and much, much better at using weapons so survivors aren't just dead weight like in the first game), there's an even larger variety of weapons, the protagonist (Chuck Greene) is a lot more interesting in general than Frank West, the storyline is better, you can make a crapload of awesome weapons, the zombies are slightly tougher,

Combine boxing gloves and a combat knife to make claw gloves. Combine a spear and a power drill to make a, er, spear drill. Those two weapons should take down anyone and anything.

Climb on top of the news stand by the sports place and get a Bowie knife, get boxing gloves from sports store to male knife gloves. Go into the casino right next to it and mix vodka with vodka to make intouchables. Get a ton of those and you're set.
