I had to go into work today, because I can't afford not to. My street wasn't plowed so I had to take the bus. It sucked.

I will say, the Hurricanes fucking suck.
Usually north FL where I'm stationed doesnt get hit. They go north, or we catch them after they cross the state and weaken some.
But when I lived in South West FL, we took that dirrect hit from Hurricane Charley.
Not Fun.

I was there during Charley, and I'll second that: it sucked. I was working at the BK on Del Prado and we somehow had power when everyone else didn't; I pulled a fourteen hour shift.

I like snow. I'll take snow anyday over hurricanes, flooding, heat waves, BP oil, alligator uprisings, Cocaine storms, and vast quantities of old people.

18-24 inches here in CT. My workplace is still open... fucking idiots. Still, I have enough PTO that this isn't an issue. We have 3.5 inches left predicted at this point in the storm.
I will go out and dig out in a few hours.
Also, on my first visit to Florida back in 1988 I visited the Magic Kingdom. At the end of the day they had a fireworks show over the lake. As the fireworks started, it began to snow. If you want to see kids freak out, watch southern children witness their first snowfall. They freak the hell out. For me, I was pissed that I traveled to FL and it was cold.

Yeah, we were without power for a good week. (That was off Skyline and Gleason) We made daily trips around town looking for ice to try and keep our food cold.
Cooked off of the grill until we ran out of propane, then stuck with canned goods.
Lived in the pool the entire time to stay cool since it was August, and after the hurricane left, and the sun came back out, dear lord did it get humid.
Anyway, back on topic. I don't have any snow in my state. and everyone else does. Unless your in FL, or outside the US.

It snowed last night so it got me all exited for a snow day and when I woke up it had rained and now all there is is this ugly slushy looking stuff.
We did end up getting a late start though.

I haven't seen any snow on the ground yet this winter. Oregon may be getting snow, but it is all east of the Cascade mountain range. Which means Portland is just cold and wet.

I've dealt with so much snow in my life that unless I was absolutely forced to I wouldn't move back to an area that got a lot of it. When you're a kid, it's fun. When you actually have to drive to work in it, it sucks.
One great thing about Vegas is if I do want to snowboard, I can just drive north an hour where the mountains have snow for about six months of the year. Otherwise, I never have to deal with it.
Suckers. /me high fives Atma.

I'll probably be walking to work since a lot of the roads are sloped around here and I hate skidding around.

Oh joy, I just checked when it would stop snowing here in Ohio, and apparently it won't stop until late tomorrow. I can't believe I drove my clown car in this mess, only to have the freaking plows bury it in the school parking, those bastards.

As long as I'm not forced to drive in a snowstorm, I don't really mind snow. You rarely get -30 weather in snow anyway.
Though, other drivers tend to be a pain in the ass. They even had to make winter tires mandatory because a bunch of assholes were still using shitty 4-season tires.

No snow in Roswell NM. It almost doesn't count because unlike California or Michigan we get more than one kind of weather, and we can even get more than one kind of weather in different parts of the state at once. Once a town not but 45 minutes away was devastated by massive flooding. I don't even know if it rained over here.

global warming doesn't mean that its ONLY getting hotter. It causes the weather to plainly go extremer in any way.
in vienna it almost got a feeling of spring. acutally pretty nice.
snow can be such a pain in the ass, especially when living in the country.

sarcasm, but it's snowing like a mother out in PA for the first time this season. I prefer some white on the land instead of the typical brown we've been getting this season.
