Yeah, he's definitely a huge step away from Snake. I mean Snake was just cool, he represented so much badassery in the first Solid game. So then we're given this guy who slips around on bird shit? Fuck that! I mean Raiden wasn't the worst guy to play as, he wasn't the best choice either. In fact, every character in that game, save for the people from the previous game seem so out of place and boring that it just make you wonder what were they thinking? Dead Cell was just embarrassing.

Here is a good link inside the original link I posted, near the bottom is the time line, It explains the story fairly well. I've just finished reading through the whole thing. Recommend it to MGS noobs.

Question:
I loved MGS1.
But, is the Twin Snakes remake worth paying $30 for?
I have a Gamecube that I really never touch, and mostly bought it for the kids, but I saw MGS:TTT at the local game store today, (Not Gamestop), and noticed it was one of the few GC games that wasn't selling for $5. (The others were mostly all the Zelda stuff. 4 Swords, Wind Waker, LoZ collection, etc.)

Honestly, I don't like Twin Snakes, but for one major reason.
My main complaint? It's the same dialogue but it's rerecorded by the same voice artists. However, it doesn't capture the same "feel" as the original. Maybe it's just how I am, but when I heard their lines in Twin Snakes, I was disappointed. The annunciation of the words wasn't the same and it actually felt like it lacked passion. I wish they just reused the original voice dialogue from the original. Even Snakes grunts weren't as intense as the original.

I think the way to answer this...put in Metal Gear Solid for PSX if you can play through it without it feeling dated, stick to it, if not pick up Twin Snakes. If I had to choose between Resident Evil for PSX and the remake for GameCube, it would be GC everytime I just can't stand looking at the polygons.

Yeah, while I thought they were the best thing ever at the time, MGS and RE for the psx have not aged well at all. Especially RE1. God that is terrible now.

No it's not. The GC version clearly looks better but saying about the original Resident Evil "god that is terrible now" makes you look like a doofus or a child, or both.

It is terrible now though, by todays standards If your using nostalgia factors then sure it's fun to play for a little while, or if you are saying it was great back in the day yes, yes it was, but I have no desire in my being to ever play through it for PSX again, ever. There are just some games while awesome at the time are just unbearable, this is one of those games.
But back on topic MGS in any format besides gameboy is awesome.
